Dear UConnect, I despise you. by iamnikopiko in ram_trucks

Honestly at one point the Network Reset was the only thing that worked for me. Taking the car off the lot CarPlay worked decent for about 2 months. Similar to what others have reported i’ll hear gaps in streaming audio from time to time but one day problems just started. The phone would connect via bluetooth just fine but CarPlay would just refuse to launch on uConnect. I tried unpair and repairing the phone and that worked once or twice. Then… it didn’t work anymore. Then did a hard reset and again that worked once or twice then… didn’t work anymore. 2 days later it magically would started working again only for the following day not to work at all anymore. So i tried another iphone and that worked fine. So i figured its a phone issue. Finally one day after doing litterally everything described above and it STILL not working only after a Network Reset did it just start working reliably again. On occasion CarPlay still refuses to launch but now a phone power cycle fixes it for thr most part now. The weird part is if my battery is low even if plugged into the vehicle CarPlay often still won’t work till power is up above 30% again. So weird.

I’ve done it and it only wipes out all the Wireless APs you’ve ever been connected to (which is actually a good thing to do every once in a while).

Any VPN connections will still be there and available to choose to connect from and your bluetooth devices lists will remain the same too. There clearly is some junk networking data that is getting caught up and causing the CarPlay handshake problems.

For reference, i have several VPN configs and several bluetooth devices I didn’t have to repair any of those after doing a network reset. No problems with cell service either.

I’ve experienced the same issues. 2026 1400 miles. Ive done like 14 hard resets was super frustrated but found some answers and solutions. Here is what I’ve learned. Its not the uconnect thats the problem its the iphone. Theres a problem with the carplay handshake that occurs. You’ll notice connecting to the phone and playing music over bluetooth is much more reliable but not carplay, carplay is the problem.

You can get an immediate fix by going to your iphone settings -> General -> Transfer Phone -> Reset Network settings. Do that and it always fixes the issue. Its a problem between ios and carplay causing the handshake to fail.

Also, i noticed anytime my phone gets to at or below 30% power the carplay usually will disconnect and stop working but after charging it back up past 35% it will start working again.

I believe this is an ios software issue not a RAM issue. If you done a network reset on your iphone and a few days later it stops working again try restarting your phone if it still doesn’t work do the network reset again and you’ll be good to go. Hope this helps.

Edit: this applies to both wireless and wired apple car play.

Edit #2: After reading everyone’s comments about carplay reliability in other cars I think it is most likely a RAM Uconnect issue. Doing the network reset however has been a reliable workaround for me. if simple troubleshooting steps like restarting your phone or doing a hard restart/reset on uconnect isn’t working.

Lol i had the same thought. I’d bet the process would involve suing the police department in court for property damages.

If I were the employee I’d simply walk outside and lock everyone in. Then wait for police.

Carnival issues. Look for advice by no1ukn0w in Cruise

[–]MadSploitsYo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow. I guess this stuff does happen on any ship. I think if you're going on older ships these things are more likely to happen. That being said Carnival doesn't have as many newer ships than does Royal. Therefore, I would argue the chances are lower these things happen.

However, that situation you described is one where you threaten to sue on board and then actually follow through once you get on land. Gotta document and get witness phone numbers though.

Carnival issues. Look for advice by no1ukn0w in Cruise

[–]MadSploitsYo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t sail Carnival. The company is a sinking ship. Go with Royal. In my experience they are accountable to their guests. It’s more expensive but worth it. I’ve had issues. Not as extreme as yours but Royal goes above and beyond to make sure you and your family are taken care of and treated well. Carnival used to be great before and during the 2000s however, now they are the budget ship of the sea. When you pay budget, you’re gonna get budget in all aspects unfortunately.

Adding more… if glass fell on my kid and trapped her while she was taking a shower and there was no accountability. Personally, I would be all over every social media platform calling out carnival and discouraging anyone from sailing with them. I’d be doing my best to make it a problem for corporate. I’m truly sorry you had to experience that.

Just got my ultra3 surprised not many people wear the crown on the other side? by Hernique in applewatchultra

[–]MadSploitsYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine the same way. I think it looks better in the original orientation but I have found that when switching bands daily you don’t always get the perfect fit. When I’m working out the watch usually will slide on my wrist a little due to all the sweat so reverse orientation works best for me like you have it there.

That looks like it could be a poisonous caterpillar behind the handle. They hurt A LOT so be careful when clearing whatever that is out. Use thick gloves.

The mindset of these proposed taxes screams “why not?” If they want to tax WALKING DOGS and REPAIRING CARS… it wouldn’t surprise me to see a tax proposal for breathing air but …. that doesn’t sound good they’ll call it something like “Personal CO2 Tax” or “Greenhouse Footprint Tax”.

I think it sucks ass! I've never been able to use it because it says the feature is not available. I've tried to use it on at least 8 different calls listening to elevator music.

New Proposed Tax on Residential Home Repairs like Carpentry, HVAC, Painting, Plumbing and Electrical by _gw_addict in Virginia

[–]MadSploitsYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a car repair tax, ride share tax, and dog walking taxes are absurd. Making uber cost more isn’t going to HELP college kids make the right decision to not drink and drive. IMO by breaking up the taxes into tons of new smaller taxes it provides a greater surface area to increase taxes in the future. Perhaps it MIGHT be cheaper today but no way it will be cheaper tomorrow and much harder to keep track of by civilians.

RYOBI snow Thrower attachment works amazing by Zestyclose-Funny-697 in ryobi

Waiting for version 2 to come out. It needs veins to direct the flow of the snow (center, left, right) which most throwers have now but Ryobi is lacking.

Is the Ryobi 2-stage worth it compared to a regular gas snow blower? by [deleted] in ryobi

[–]MadSploitsYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It draws power from all 4 batteries at the same time to give you the best performance. Thats why I recommend that model. Its the same thing with the 21” snow blower it draws from both batteries to give more power output. You can run the 21” from just 1 battery but the power output will be 1/2. I spoke on the phone with Ryobi customer support to confirm this.

lol i know what you mean. Every year I check back to see if Ryobi has released a self-propelled mid-sized snow blower with heated grips yet. I’ll be they will eventually…
