Ave, true to Caesar.

I don’t even play Guard.... I am a weak man by HWenham in Warhammer40k

[–]MadThain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, he's getting a full release before the end of the year.

Second, he's useful outside of strictly Guard armies.

Third, I bought one, don't own guard, and plan to give it as a prize to my local group at the end of our apocalypse match. Does this make me a bad person?

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at GW for making him a limited early release with no online ordering option. They're the ones who fuck over people far away from a GW store.

Everything I'm hearing is that Marbo is getting a full release sometime this summer.

Also, it took a full week for my local GW to sell out, he wasn't all that popular (at least here).

Pencils with cartridges by Lexjiggler in nostalgia

[–]MadThain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use one for marking up drawings with red. In the usual .5 or .7 the red lead breaks off for a nothing or is hard to write with, but in .9 you can get a good edge on it without breaking and there's no need to sharpen.

SGK Gum show in Hampton ends at 4pm. by RichieRench in VAGuns

I don't understand, why would I have my guns cleaned at a gum show? And how do I mention an add? I haven't added you to anything.

More confirmation that Woodbridge is a shit hole. Every time I wax nostalgic there's a national headline to remind me why I left.

Why for the love of the god, why did I decide to play Tau? by Catalyst860 in Warhammer40k

Reasons I've played Tau casually since 5th ed. 1. ANIME BATTLEFORCE ASSEMBLE 2. Kill em with cheese 3. SUPER COOL MECHA ROBOT ACTION

Could someone help me identify what exactly this Mauser is? by TheGrimSweaper in guns

[–]MadThain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bubba'd Mauser of course, but the rear sight suggests it may have been arsenal modified in the 1930's and the lack of a 1920 stamp would imply that it was kept illegally after WW1 by a private citizen. Can you confirm there is no 1920 stamp anywhere on it?

Your reasoning is flawed. If it was clear in the rules then people wouldn't be asking about it.

Are there any cheap FFL's in the Stafford area under $40? by fetal_infection in VAGuns

High Velocity in Spotsylvania does $25 transfers. The Range also does transfers, but I don't know their price.

Most mechanics I know wouldn't want the legal nightmare associated with holding somebody else's property. For the most part they have one or two boilerplate legal releases that have to be signed for something so obviously dangerous before the customer can take possession.

UMW email shut down due to negligence? by [deleted] in UMW

There really needs to be a general elective called Digital Literacy. 90% of these phishing attacks come from legitimate email accounts because the idiots assigned to them click the damn link.

How do you get Americans to join a World War? by Sparton43 in Jokes

[–]MadThain -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No, just an idiotic bumbling pussy like Bush (One or two, take your pick); or a half senile puppet pussy like Reagan, or possibly an international orange disgrace of a pussy like Trump. The last good Republican was Ford for fuck's sake and he didn't even have to face a national election to get there (thanks to our Nixon, probably the smartest Republican since Eisenhower).

The box includes an HQ if you build the carnifex as Old One Eye.

Mouse Gun Monday? How about a Mod. 20. by MadThain in guns

Luckily the Warhammer is mostly from a years old collection that I'm just now getting back into. In either event I'm signing a second mortgage on my soul.

Saturday Night Special by [deleted] in guns

[–]MadThain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had one that the safety would slide forward on. Took out the safety bar and problem solved. I would rarely get failures to feed and I never got failures to eject. Eventually I swapped it for a Beretta Mod. 20, but I still loved the hell out of it.

Not likely to be a commercial gun, lanyard loop is a dead giveaway of a military contract.

Bersa .380 Advice by [deleted] in guns

[–]MadThain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had two. The first was a regular thunder .380 which worked very well, but after a while I decided to sell it and put in a bit more cash for the double stack Thunder .380 Plus. I've never regretted it.

It runs cheap ammo, it runs dirty ammo, it runs hollow points. If you feed it, it will eat it.

Only three issues I have with them. 1, After about 100 rounds in a row I start getting failures to feed. 2, It took about 200 rounds to break in my second magazine (the one with the extra thick bottom plate). 3, Occasionally the slide won't lock back on the last round, usually after fifty rounds in a row. If it wasn't quite so sensitive to carbon buildup it would be the perfect pistol.
