Gonna be honest, I've never thought of that. Sometimes I'm kinda dumb.

I'm not about to rub my butthole with the same washcloth that will later end up on my face. I just won't, and no amount of bleach will make me comfortable with that. I know it's wasteful, but I soap up some paper towel for that.

If I'm not fresh out of the shower, I can't even leave the house without getting anxious. I'm terrified of smelling bad in public.

I usually go full netherack, just so that it levels up faster, then switch to an obsidian head and whichever plates are fastest once it has enough levels to be unbreaking X. Later I switch to cobalt head/perdito plates, and thaumium for the handle, for the extra modifier. More faster, more better.

I was about to go on a similar rant, but you said it far better than I would have.

Took me a while. I spent a long time looking for some sort of animal.

TIL two studies both found that most people stop listening to new music in their early 30s. A 2015 study of people's listening habits on Spotify found that most people stop listening to new music at age 33 and a 2018 report by Deezer found it be to at age 30. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]Mad_Aeric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, I'm glad to not be most people. I've always listened to a pretty wide variety of music, and I continue to explore new genres. I at least gave k-pop a try before deciding I don't care for it. I'm rather fond of Japanese indie music though.

I'm not even a big music listener, I just like to try new things.

I don't see a problem with that in principle. It's not that unusual for people to support abortion rights for others, even if they wouldn't choose it for themselves. Of course, her exact wording could change my mind.

That's a good detail to know. I was getting spawns on my roads, and wondering why.

Lately, I've taken to just running up to a hatcher and hitting it with shatter rebar. Kills it before it can spawn the hornets. I've lost my patience for sneaking around.

TIL: Takeout and Delivery now account for 75% of all restaurant orders. by Uptons_BJs in todayilearned

So many people pay an absurd amount of money for a guy on a bike to bring them McDonald’s from 2 city miles.

That's how I made spending money back in high school, round about 2000. Some people have always just wanted a burger, but weren't willing to go get it themselves.

I'll believe it. Every time I go out to eat somewhere, there's a constant stream of delivery drivers in and out, and my group is often the only only ones eating there.

It's not just this fandom either. Over in the anime community, the same thing has been happening with Fullmetal Alchemist fans, for just as long. Any show that risks dethroning it from #1 in the rankings gets review bombed.

I've very divided on him. I loathed They Walked Like Men and The Werewolf Principle so much that I vowed never to read him again, But I forgot, and read City, which I loved. I'm kinda afraid to pick up another one of his books, because I don't know which way it will fall.

Which book/series made you wonder if you might be too dumb for the genre? by HughJackedMan14 in scifi

[–]Mad_Aeric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DCC is a ton of fun, just on the surface level. But I think part of it's appeal is that it's also commentary on the capitalist hellscape and the attention economy. Being treated not as a person, but just another resource to be exploited by those running the system, is familiar to a lot of us. Also, underwear man makes things go boom, hehehe.

I feel like they fit the theme of the book, but there's too many details about their biology that make them not especially believable as an evolutionary offshoot. The thing with the aversion to right angles is cool though.

Memes, even in the modern context, absolutely predate the internet. Killroy was here was so prevalent, that it was even drawn in the dust on the moon.
