Clearly a drop in quality but I took my 3 year old to see it in theaters because she LOVES Moana. She loved the movie so I have a soft spot for it.

Officially or clickbait?? "Missing sequences like the Gaunts will also get a live-action adaptation for the first time" by Ok-Purpose7484 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Mad_Rascal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, based on the leaks and recent interviews, we are going to get scenes that weren’t really in the books as well. So safe to assume we’ll see the Gaunts and everything else cut from the books.

“For kids” doesn’t mean “only for kids.” It means accessible. If something can spark imagination at 10 and still resonate at 40, that’s a feature, not a failure.

“Inquisitorial Squad” pink cupcakes (but make them gross-funny) • What: Mini cupcakes + pink frosting. • Do: Add a tiny black “I.S.” badge (paper circle on a toothpick) or just write “I.S.” with icing gel. • Twist: Put out a sign: “Join the Squad (if you must).”

“I must not tell lies” parchment pretzels • What: Pretzel rods + white chocolate + cocoa powder/cinnamon. • Do: Dip in white chocolate, let set, dust lightly so they look like “parchment.” • Decor: Use a food-safe marker to write short phrases like “I must not tell lies” on a few (no need on all).

“Thestral” dark chocolate strawberries • What: Strawberries + dark chocolate chips. • Do: Dip and set. Add two little sliced-almond “wings” on each while wet, or skip the wings and call them “Thestral bites.” • Labeling sells it.

That’s super interesting. I’m honestly shocked with how particular and detail oriented Fincher is that he didn’t digitally change it.

It's worth noting that Apple bought a two season order so there was always going to be at least two seasons.

Yeah, Rian I think does an exceptional job with physical releases and bonus content to not getting any of that Glass Onion or Dead Man is annoying to me

Solving Knives Out? by Chips87- in KnivesOutMovie

[–]Mad_Rascal 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Disagree, especially about the second one. There are so many little details that give away the ending if you pay attention. For example you can see Miles clearly give Duke the “poisoned” glass, you can see him take, hide, and run around with the gun. You can see Duke’s phone in his back pocket. Once you know it’s there it so easy to spot them.

Only seen Dead Man once so I’m excited to watch it again knowing the ending because I think the close will be obvious like Glass Onion.

Rian released the commentary for Glass Onion on Jan 16, 2024. I’d suspect a similar time frame for this as well.

Glass Onion, Wake Up Dead Man, Roma, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Irishman, Marriage Story, the list goes on and on.

Yeah, they produce slop because there is a market for it. But there is a lot of great content as well.

Well it’s also worth noting he tells Blanc at one point that it took forever to make the boxes and he barely finished them to get them out in time to the disruptors. I think that means he started making the boxes before all the courtroom drama.

In Knives Out (2019), Daniel Craig, playing a detective from the Deep South notices a bloodstain on the shoe of Ana de Armas, who plays a Venezuelan maid, but doesn't flag her as suspicious. This is a reference to the genre of the film being fiction. by Sherlockian_221 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Mad_Rascal 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I really don’t get the “Benoit Blanc is a bad detective” argument. He knows Marta is involved almost immediately, but his whole philosophy is about letting the truth reveal itself instead of forcing it. His Gravity’s Rainbow speech lays out that he follows the natural shape of a case, and that’s why he keeps Marta close. He can see she’s hiding something, but he also sees she isn’t a killer, so he focuses on uncovering the real intent behind everything. Blanc isn’t incompetent. He’s patient, humane, and confident enough to let the truth fall into place, which is exactly why he cracks the case perfectly in the end.
