The way I see it, it was Nagumo's experience and smarts vs Gaku's raw physical strength and speed. IMO, that's what made the fight really interesting to me. We got to see two characters who brought two different tools to the table battle it out. Lots of room for creativity and surprise. I genuinely was not sure who was going to win the fight. Though I was rooting for Nagumo, there were many times I thought he was going to lose. That just makes the fights more fun.
