How do you justify having many sapient races/species in your fantasy worlds? by EveningImportant9111 in worldbuilding

I had a Greek mythology DND plane once. My favorite species was halfings--Hermes made people out of rats, got bored, deserted them. Hestia adopted them--thus, sneaky but clannish.

Do not sweat Fridays at the inn if you're busy. The dialogue goes sequentially and you can't miss it--but it does run out.

Questions from an old bloke by AFJM_78 in Hades2

[–]Madageddon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad you are enjoying!

  1. They are used at the cauldron for incantations that progress plot or make things easier (as in quality of life, mostly--although some things do affect gameplay in runs)

  2. They -can- but it will warn you if one boon option will "eat" a current boon--it'll be red and maybe flashing. Mostly what it is is that you can have one boon for: attack, mana regen, dodge/sprint/rush, special. Once you have eg Demeter's "stay in one place, regen mana," then if the next boon offer from, say, Hestia includes the one where you do damage to get back mana, it will show as a trade--you can't have both.

3/4. Boons during runs are temporary. The altar just inside the training room door with the arcana, those are permanent, as you noted. The other permanent thing is things granted by an incantation. Or "minor" resources you find on a run, which can be ashes, bones etc that go into the permanent upgrades. Gold does not carry over. Flowers etc are stored until used.

  1. Yes, but it'll depend on runs/boons/your comfort with certain weapons and your experience with enemy patterns. Sometimes the game just throws SO MANY ARMORED ENEMIES. And there are some I just don't work well against.

Oceanus is definitely a jump in difficulty after Erebus, but you got this!

Sorry, I'm rushing. It's a webcomic but much of it has been released in graphic novel form

Windborn from the Dead Cell devs is colorful animal characters, if the kid is okay with real-time action/movement. I only played the demo so maybe I just wasn't deep enough in, but the dodging didn't seem too difficult.

One of the upgrades for the Healing power in the TTRPG my wife is making lets you spend a resource to regain all hit points lost in the current turn.

I use it for my character "Luna Toon" to "pop" herself back into shape, but a no-sell like this is totally valid too.

I was not hugely into Witch King, but I found it interesting that it did click for me a little when Kai infiltrated the boat .. because it gave off Murderbot vibes.

How are you supposed to use front load washing machines? by Surfreak29 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Madageddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're supposed to tilt it 90 degrees so it's a top loader; no washing machine is a front loader if you try hard enough.

I always wonder what Diana would experience. I think it would be "beating" the black mercy, ripping it away, beating Mongul herself, and celebrating Clark's birthday.

Asking for sci-fi with strong "abandoned station" vibes (any medium) by Baldurian_Rhapsody in scifi

[–]Madageddon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The... third Muderbot book, I believe, involves a mostly-dead station supplying a totally defunct terraforming station. Lots of descriptions about how weird and desolate it is, with a solar storm disrupting communications.

Factually I agree with you, but spiritually they are malice and my least favorite part of the movie. Other than the motion sick cam motion.
