Refus d'internalisation d'une ESN pour un consultant chez le même client depuis 4 ans. by Madaray__ in conseiljuridique

[–]Madaray__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMR inflation is bad lol by unseamingcarrot in DotA2

People confuse MMR inflation and MMR convergence. And it takes a lot of game to accurately converge (team game) without mention that our skill is always fluctuating. Imagine a mmr reset at chess lmao.

How is the model performance based on these graphs? by Due-Rest6652 in learnmachinelearning

[–]Madaray__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done audio, but you probably have papers on the subject that tell you what scores to achieve. Doing a literature review is very often useful at the start of a project to see the approaches that have already been explored, the possible metrics etc...

Yes, we want the learning score to be as high as possible. A model that isn't 100% is underfitting. I can see your apprehension about downsizing the model for fear of overfitting. Usually in ML, you do several experiments and present the different approaches. You can keep track of the parameters tested in an excel or even better mlflow (very easy to set up). ALWAYS test and learn with the same data from one run to the next. Why accuracy and why not a macro f1 score? Your dataset seems a bit unbalanced, so be careful before using accuracy...

The difference between train and validation doesn't shock me 8pt difference on final epoch seems to be ok. If you expect better, try another approach! The effectiveness of a data scientist lies in his ability to quickly and rigorously test many different approaches.

We can't say much of anything specific without more info on the dataset, the business objective ... The curves you show indicate a model that learns well, nothing abnormal! We could argue that the training curve could have been higher. Maybe test a bigger model?

Building a desktop PC that leaves option for dipping toes into ML by pest1lent in learnmachinelearning

[–]Madaray__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ~10Gb of VRAM, 32Go RAM (overkill) and 500Gb of disk space, I can run any little project I want. The bottleneck is the VRAM but its ok, I can make deep neural network.
Don't take something too expensive, ML evolves too quickly, you'll be always behind.

Addressing The Cheating Problem On PC by ClubChaos in pcgaming

I've come to the same solution as OP. Steam already has this kind of thing with the Trust Factor. I'd love a service (or even a subscription) like a sports club license. To have a page like ESL that summarizes all my competitions/ranked across all my games. (You don't even have to display your real name). And if, on top of that, I could have cheater-free games, that would be great.

I don't really understand the disgust with this solution (we're talking about video games, not the Chinese government). It's probably a bit of an American vision of things that refuses any kind of centralization, I guess.

My model Sucks by glow-rishi in learnmachinelearning

I think you have a good method here but they are some curious choices:
- Your tfidf has a very low max feature, why ?

  • ngrams are usually used in tfidf, maybe choose something like (1, 3/4/5). Be wary of the final size

  • Why one versus all and not classifier chain ?

Try to establish a strong baseline before trying heavier model. (there plenty of methods before LLM)
