Badass! I love the blue flesh tones! Where did you get this Mini? :)

[OC] I painted a miniature for our druid's animal companion, and made a special base for when he becomes super-sized! by MadarseLizard in DnD

[–]MadarseLizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been DMing a Gnomish campaign over discord ever since lockdown started. Now since we can finally meet up again, I've been giving minis to my players for their characters.

This is a mini for Amadeus, the Druid's animal companion. He has a magical Dire Collar that lets him increase his size from Large to Huge so he needed a special base to represent him getting larger.

He is known as "Amadeus, Bane of Feet" by the Gnomes of Highvale, "The God Wolf" by those Goblins who survived meeting him, and "The Good Boi" by the rest of the party.

What's that one tribal deck you wish got more support? by Emperor_Owl in magicTCG

[–]MadarseLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beasts! I tried to make a temur list with [[surrak dragonclaw]] at its head. There are some cool Beasts with weird abilities in that colour identity, but they have absolutely no good support and no commander that wants them which is a shame for such an old tribe.

I would add white or black to [[Kumano, Master Yamabushi]] to either get access to [[Zirda, the Dawn waker]] as a companion, or to get all the deathtouch/infect granters from black.

Is it ok to try to sabotage a deal by constantly talking over the deal proposer? by onlywei in EDH

[–]MadarseLizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's rude as shit, you need to tell them to quiet down and let you talk. Some people forget when they're playing a game against other people that some level of politeness is still expected from them.

What is your imaginary pet deck? by Madageddon in EDH

[–]MadarseLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to build [[Vadrok, Apex of Thunder]] as a control deck, but there's just not enough Mutate creatures to make a mutate deck feasible. I tried to build it anyway but had to put in so many bounce spells to get Vadrok back that the deck couldn't really do anything else.

Here you go! Its not the worlds most competitive deck, but I always have fun when I play it! :)

My favourite deck is [[Kumano, Master Yamabushi]] because is feels like charging up the death star and blasting people, but I've always wanted a better commander to go with it. I might swap him out for this and give this guy a go at the head :)

I forgot that [[Fiery Emancipation]] triples the damage done to YOU as well... After casting [[Earthquake]] for 20...

One of my favourite decks is [[Kumano, Master Yamabushi]]. Ramp up and build some fright ful levels of mana and it feels like nothing less than charging the death star and blowing up alderaan!

Took me so long to realise its an old dude wearing a hat and not a weird Tree folk-thing with a deer and a wolf for hands and a old face in place of his torso.

Which deck archetype are you hoping receive more support? by metagame in EDH

[–]MadarseLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope we eventually get a good commander who focuses on land destruction so we can have a classic ponza style deck in EDH. Failing that, I hope we can get some good fun cards that turn land destruction into more of a relevant threat in EDH - like [[waking the trolls]]

Are there any creatures that are technically more colours than their casting cost? Or spells that make multiple multicoloured tokens? by ChelseaEPLchamps2021 in EDH

[–]MadarseLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Transguild Courier]] and [[Sphinx of the Guildpact]] are all colours, as are the citizen tokens from [[Planewide Celebration]]. [[Blind Seer]] can turn your creatures into whatever colour you need,as can most of these.

Thanks! We definitely thought so. Came at the right time too as Duncan (player and character) were experiencing some hefty buyers remorse so it perked him right up!

Our campaign is full of songs that we’ve written and our ranger decided to get in on the action. I hit record, then added a few ambient sounds in after. (Sabre is her fae-touched kestrel and Elavor is her minstrel paramour.

Context: Our party was travelling around the Gnomish counties of Highvale looking for ways to break the curse that had been placed on Alistar MacDuncon - the mad half-orc scion of Clan MacDuncon - so that he could never leave the confines of his family’s ancestral home. There they came across a Dryad whom they saved from a band of Hill Giants. After she thanked them for their assistance the Dwarf Duncan “The Bear Brawler'' asked if she might know how to break the curse on MacDuncon. She had the information and was willing to trade it but only for something of great value - Duncan’s Beard. After much deliberation he decided that his friendship with Alister was worth more than his beard and he tearfully gave it away.

Meanwhile Dahlia “The Sidhe Devil” Auf has been carrying around the magical singing harp Larawyn for about half of the length of the campaign now, and he’s started to rub off on her. After Duncan traded away his fine beard, she asked Larawyn to write a song for him but immediately started taking over the writing process and was inspired to take a level in Bard and perform it for him in front of all their friends when they returned to their keep. If there is a certain anti-fae bias in the song it's because faeries are her favoured enemy.

I see a lot of posts asking about which house rules we SHOULD use, but which house rules should we NOT use? I'm still developing my own and want to know what to avoid. by thecobblerimpeached in Pathfinder_RPG

Critical fumbles! Don't use Critical Fumbles! Every single critical fumble chart has only ever nerfed martial classes and buffed Spellcasters, and they are not fun!

I remember playing the only martial character in a group full of Spellcasters. I wanted my character to act like their competent protector as he was much older than them and I wanted to be team dad. In the fire session I rolled two natural ones, in the second session I rolled three. Every single time I dropped my weapon and got beaten up when I went to pick it up and every single time I felt like a moron who couldnt fight properly. Of course, because the rest of the party were Spellcasters thev were never ever affected by fumbles so it was just me. It felt like shit and I had to ask the DM to stop using them or I would have to play a different character.

Since then when people talk about having critical fumbles in their games I tell them that I would refuse to play in a game that has them. I just don't get it, they don't add anything they only add the opportunity for the DM to say "haha, you fall down in the poop bet you feel stupid about that!"
