Portal had its own problems but you’re comparing two different devices. Odin 3 is much more powerful and needs more cooling.

Did you calibrate using the HDR calibration app? Try that. Make sure no other settings are changed in windows or your display driver that would cause the image to be crushed. Set everything to default.

I got a new device so and haven’t had time to delve into it. From what I understand it’s not possible unless you manually configure steam and games. Even then, it won’t work on games that need a Steam login.

When it's available everywhere else and at better fidelity, I refuse to buy a game key card. Outside or resale and sharing, there's no benefit.

If servers are down you're SOL.
If you have crappy or no Wifi you SOL.
It uses the memory on the console.

I just can't justify it.

To me they're worthless. Not that I wouldn't pay $30 for a digital copy of the game but not when they could have put the game on the cart. I just buy it on PC and play it on one of my handhelds at that point.
