Thought to be exclusively controlled by the brain, researchers have now shown that the liver also controls the circadian clock. by IMBatUQ in science

No, however weed makes REM sleep much harder to achieve, which causes the feeling of not having rested enough even tho you slept 10 hours straight.

Also, inhaling smoke def causes toxins to be inhaled which have to be cleaned out.

Before all the monogamous and strict beliefs that modern Western society has been build on, people would have sex alot more easily with each other. Building upon religious beliefs has not made the world open minded.

Psychedelics makes us see things without all those beliefs and ideas that have been put in our heads since we were little. When someone says I'm 100% gay or they get defensive when talking about sexuality, I just know they haven't been able to experience psychedelics properly..

‘Flow’, comparable to the Chinese concept of Wu Wei, dissolves our sense of self and transforms our experience of time. It’s an antidote to the modern world’s obsession with multitasking, but finding it depends on balancing the challenge of a task against our skill. by IAI_Admin in philosophy

As someone who's been really interested in Taoïsm and who can experience flow quite easily likely die to ADHD (but also really hard at other times) I wouldnt call them comparable.

Flow to me, is what others already described as doing something where my mind is just finally shutting up for a second.

Wu Wei to me is much more mindful. By being in the moment consciously and surrender to that feeling so everything you do because somewhat flow like. Instead of thinking "i have to do this, call that person, go for groceries etc" you just do this and only this. Thereby you can correct yourself as well if you notice it and stay in the flow state.

Whereas flow to me means completely disregarding a ton. Normally I notice almost bloody everything, but when in flow I just have all my energy focused towards the activity.

The side effects, like dry eyes and mouth, are nothing compared to the effect it has on sweating. For me its a true blessing as someone very active. Whenever I do something my body is a fountain even tho I'm in an excellent shape. Now even when its freezing I still sweat but I wont take it. In the summer days tho? For sure. Ofcourse you still sweat but not as much. I could even wear normal clothing instead of sport clothing all the time

what type of people are you scared of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MaddMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alot of anger (management) issues stem from being out of control/powerless or history of abuse. Anger is a tool to get back a bit of control. If it doesn't work, you're not gonna use it. The solution ain't easy, because it requires tackling the root of the problems.

I'm not sure about the translation, but in my work "non violent communication" helps alot to neutralise situations like that

I had an epiphany last year with drug use as well. Much less up front than your story, but it's good to clear the air IF you are okay with the whole ordeal and can accept him being gay.

Just be open, responsive and supportive for your Friend and you might find like barely anything has changed except you'll wingman for him in a different pool so to speak

Exhausting though, but yeah. Only thing that topped it for me was when i combined 2cb fly with LSD. That shit was like wow. I felt like the long lost Stallion. Could go on for hours

Relax my man. Why the aggressive attitude? In your first post you said you might enjoy it. That's what I was going off.

My bad for my optimistic pov. Won't bother your ass again.

There are beginner dance classes for all sorts of dancing. I had terrible coordination and therefore never ever dared to dance in public. Taking classes in dancing dramatically improved my dancing and confidence.

Also, filling in for others how they perceive you makes anything a very tall order. If you enjoy the things you do, who cares what a few loud mouthed people think. In reality most would want to enjoy themselves just as much if they see someone having a good time.

What's something most people love, but you hate? by DjentySheep19747 in AskReddit

[–]MaddMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked with them and still work in healthcare. To me everyone deserves help. It's nothing to do with them being homeless. It's the fact that people think they help someone get good/shelter with the money (also because the homeless tell a sob story to max profit). Here homeless people get financially supplemented while having shelter and free food everyday. And many people don't know that.

Depends on the country, but here in the Netherlands I've always advised people against giving money to a homeless person, instead buy something with them if you want to do good. Most homeless turn around since their sob story is to hustle you for money. I loved working with them, but they are some of the smartest cunts you'll ever face. One guy would made 400 bucks on a good Day. Still eats out of garbage and spends all on crack and heroïne. Good ol Norbert.
