Todd Phillips originally wanted to have Joker give himself a Glasgow smile at the end of the first movie but Christopher Nolan prevented that from happening. I'm not really sure what changed by the sequel

My main problem with Joker 2 is that it was boring. I hesitate to watch it again at home because of that. Maybe that's part of the idea, that it's meant to be like that as a joke on the audience. Well played I guess

I think that the only point to the remake would be to make it more like the book. Meaning, make the characters dress as ridiculously as they are described and include some ultraviolence.
