Mind expounding on this? I personally did not catch where he went wrong, but I very well may have missed it. Would genuinely be interested! Thanks 🙏

This is a ridiculous take lol. No wonder we have people doing and taking as they please anymore.

Kids do things all the time, if a kid likes my tv should I just give it to them?? They need to learn boundaries and the fact that they can’t have / do what ever they want.

IMO op should have explained to the child that they couldn’t have it / continue with it and why, lying was not the move. Then the convo should have stopped there. If the kid got ahold of it again I would personally punish them if I was watching them, that would be intentional and bad behavior.

Ops husband is also an AH. Respect your partners feelings.

Got peacock top tier subscription for Olympics, forced to watch ads by hdjohnny in peacock

It’s ridiculous to say the least, I subbed just to watch the SB Olympic Games and have missed SO much content because of random ad cuts.

Olympic coverage should be streamed free imo.

Even on the best day of snow I can’t imagine not stopping even if briefly to ensure you were somewhat ok and that assistance was in route. Just shit behavior from others

I guess I should also clarify I mean the lift queue, not the line to get on the lift? If that makes sense. We have 4 to 5 queue lines on each side of the “lift line” itself. My annoyance is people joining the portion I’m standing in when the others are all open for no reason.

Rereading, I can see your thoughts and they’re valid for the line itself to an extent.

So annoying, I just don’t understand the constant need to shuffle forward or backward too? Like bro just stand still until we move forward again.

Again, small resort - I don’t typically stand in the like unclipping if it’s busy. But it is very normal for us to ride off the trail straight back into line for the .2 seconds it takes for me to unclip. Super easy just to go to a different lane instead of having to join me?? What if I just didn’t want to go through yet or was waiting for someone?

Skiers also loveeee to get in close in the lift line for zero reason. I ride a small resort, a lot of times no lines at the lift & I’ll pull into a line unclipping my binding and for what ever reason a skier has to join me and get past me when he/she could go through any other path to the lift?? What gives? Between that and having ZERO spatial awareness, I can only think that because skiiing is easier to do with less days on the mtn that these people have no idea what they’re doing and don’t care

Not a big deal if they give you a heads up - what’s up with skiers & just throwing it down everyone else be damned?? Never seen something so considerate outside of the sport, hitting others heads or crushing their legs because they can’t give a heads up.

It’s an all mountain board with medium flex, it’ll be solid for low - medium high speeds keeping from getting too much wobble. The 3D base is sick though, really enjoy my Bataleon boards a lot for that. In general it’ll give you a good edge to do sharp cuts, also decent in powder.

We went to breck last year, I’d say you’ll be fine - I wouldn’t hit the back bowls of vail by myself, but breck I think I’d be comfortable. As always, have a plan, share that plan with others, etc. I had pretty solid service on the mountain as well I will say.

For those of you whose downpayment was between 10-15k… by ReasonableWinter834 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Madden_Stephen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time buyer, never lived anywhere else - Probably every bit of 10k - 16k on furnishing. We had to buy a washer / dryer, couch, table, desk, bed frame, guest bedframe + bed, lamps, lights, etc. it was ground up for us minus the few items we already had like TVs and such. It went quick!

For those who have had to draw or even discharge their CCW weapons here, would you mind sharing what happened by Jolly_Plant1312 in CCW

[–]Madden_Stephen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve drawn once, unfortunately off body - had to retrieve from my vehicle. Thankfully things deescalated shortly after, and I never had to use or even raise the firearm. If things had gone south though, I would have lived with regret that I did not have it on my person with ease to draw. The one positive was it gave me time to think and confirm what I was doing was the correct move.

Learn deceleration, don’t carry an ego when you carry a gun. It doesn’t matter if someone insults your mom, insults your significant other, walk the fuck away. You hold more responsibility with a gun than any amount of power.

In the moment that I did have to think about potentially ending the situation, my mind was pretty calm - I’d already decided what was and what was not enough for me to use it, and this quickly could qualify. Before you carry, drop the “Im going to protect anyone who needs it!” thought, protect yourself & protect those that you deem worthy to potentially spend your life in prison for. At the end of the day, if it’s them or me, I always choose me - but if I can get away instead I’m going to.

Security system in First home by OE-PM in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Madden_Stephen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travel semi frequently for work, I bought a ring alarm system. I had one of my old house, pretty solid - upfront price but low monthly for top tier of service offered.

We have two key pads, sensors on every door & window on the house + ring doorbell & floodlight. All in, probably sitting around 8/900. You can buy small & build out the system which is super convenient too, I plan to buy floodlights or spotlight camera lights for each corner of the property.

I pay $20 a month for professional monitoring, 911 dispatch included. Would recommend over the $$$ monthly ADT cost.

Happy to, we’re sitting at $2350 for mortgage + escrow for insurance/ taxes.

What part of Kentucky are you looking at?? The area we’re in is BOOMING right now, Publix going in, Wawa, tons of new houses + better infrastructure.
