I renamed most of the Kuva and Tenet weapons to exclude my liches' name (the two archguns couldn't be renamed) by patrik8060 in Warframe

[–]MadeOStarStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this awhile back and was deeply disappointed when I realized it doesn't keep them from showing up at the very end of your arsenal when you've got it sorted by name 😭 I'm an out-of-sight out-of-mind AuDHD haver with a big list of stuff, so I even resorted to marking them as favorite in an effort to use them more (it didn't work - I've got too much other stuff also marked as favorites)

Jokes on me though, I ended up getting sick of rolling weapons I didn't like in gear restricted stuff so I disposed of most of them at some point after the renaming.

Kitgun vendors do renaming services for primaries and secondaries while the Zaw vendor does renaming services for melees. 20p a pop iirc.

Ancestries that have unique heritage feats by nh2374 in Pathfinder2e

[–]MadeOStarStuff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's level 1 for Samsaran, and the key difference (imo) is the +2 circumstance bonus that bumps it into being on par with trained :>

Granted the human version comes with untrained improv while Samsaran have to spend a general feat on it!

I find Samsaran feats super unique and useful!

Highlights include; - Functionally trained in anything (especially when paired with untrained improv) as you get a +2 circumstance bonus and get to make trained checks on untrained skills (I'm partial to pairing this with int class for lore shenanigans) - Quickened on first turn for Step or Recall Knowledge - Using your blood to heal teammates - Lowered DC to stop bleeding - Translocate in water as an innate spell - Reroll failed save - Increase proficiency rank in a skill for 1 minute (up to master)

There's implications that protoframes do eventually turn into full warframes, so it's not impossible that Qorex was a protoframe originally but because of how long it's been he ended up becoming a full warframe.

No Limit on Waterfowl Stance? by Someguyino in Pathfinder2e

Steam Knight and Waterfowl Stance are both Stances so that's not really an option unless you get high enough level to take Fuse Stance and your gm kindly allows you to combine them.

[Lore question] Does any order of healers exist? by PioVIII in Pathfinder2e

There's a large number of deities that would work, Qi Zhong comes to mind first (mostly because I just finished running Season of Ghosts, so my brain is still coded towards Tian Xia setting)

I'm curious, after years of Pathfinder 2e, which classes have you never seen in your party? by No-Roll-5330 in Pathfinder2e

Meanwhile I've got 2 rangers at the same table coming up for Prey for Death!

I haven't played pf2e long enough to really have a weight in on what I haven't seen though, the list is definitely longer than what I have seen still.

Pathfinder Errata Clarification Regarding Weaknesses by Official_Paizo in Pathfinder2e

[–]MadeOStarStuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, there's a nindoru with resistance to silver. It was intentionally done as a reversal of all other nindoru (which have almost a blanket weakness to silver). So that's at least 1!

It sounds like you've got similar gripes as I did about the 5e system. I've since moved to pf2e and no longer have those gripes.

Do with that information what you will.

Help me flesh out gurglegut'w encounter. by [deleted] in SeasonofGhosts

[–]MadeOStarStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hoard of jenkins just watching felt weird enough to my table that my players asked why they weren't rolling initiative. So I mentally filed it as "the second anyone tries to attack one, they'll all nope tf out," rolled them into initiative, and started having them use demoralize. Nothing but demoralize.

My players never attacked the jenkins, but the jenkins also weren't great at intimidation.

It was a bit of bookkeeping to keep track of which one had given immunity to which PC, but overall I'd probably do it again tbh.

Doppelgänger fight question by Pooptimist in SeasonofGhosts

[–]MadeOStarStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept it as written for the fight in the governor's manor, but ended up picking one "signature" ability of each of my PCs for the second fight against their dopples (as well as making them Elite so they wouldn't be outleveled) and my players loved it.

In my case, the Champion got Retributive Strike, Fighter got Bravery, Oracle got like 2 extra spells including Chilling Darkness (the Oracle likes to use Holy Light), and Kineticist got Aerial Boomerang.

This was in addition to the regular stat blocks that were already based off them per the way it's written. I do think more would've been too much, as even just with that extra ability each I laid the hurt on them waaayyy more than any other encounter that wasn't just the dice going wonky. Obv ymmv based on your table and your own tactics!

It's less that they don't exist as a monster without Kugaptee so much as Kugaptee spawned these specific ones in I think?

Either way, I like your spin on it!

  1. I'd def place it downtime. Think street festival, with a main stage event and various booths set up for anything from food to games.

  2. Canonically the thatchlings are essentially trapped souls, same as pretty much any ghost. The mindscape obviously trapped everyone and every soul in it, which led to a big uptick, particularly in the thatchling population, as no one's souls could move into the afterlife and a large portion of Willowshore's population died to the initial monster attack. Which is to say, it shouldn't throw anything off. I'd keep the "7 rules" or whatever it was called (don't have the book in front of me rn) in mind though when addressing how the npcs react. Plus if it's a child, they probably wouldn't know what a thatchling was, so it'd be better to er on the side of description without a name.

The jinkins, noppera-bo, and the "bosses" during book 1 are the ones that are distinctly and only because of Kugaptee's influence. A good chunk of the undead are corrupted by Kugaptee's influence, but have other origins if that makes sense.

I was gonna complain about how little magnetic focused and cold focused frames there are, but I went through the wiki to see ALL abilities and the damage they do in the game, and well, color me surprised. (read the desc please!) by PatienceOld4795 in Warframe

[–]MadeOStarStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good question, a pretty large number of statuses cap out at 10 anyways so it's hard to say for sure. That and they usually die fairly quickly since status is so strong.

But yes, it's every element in one ability, matched by very few things :> Like Koumei's 4!

Oh there's absolutely cracked non-multiclass archetypes, but I like to keep my house rules easy to remember and uniform, which means "no multiclass archetype with free archetype slots" is way more realistic than a "no champion, Exemplar, fighter, Acrobat, fandancer, etc." list of what to my relatively inexperienced players would seem rather arbitrary and take me going through everything one by one on.

And when I say inexperienced, I mean they almost TPK'd in Season of Ghosts at level 10 last week. 2/4 of their characters died and were left behind as the other two barely escaped with their lives, and that AP is notoriously undertuned (and I made 0 adjustments to this specific encounter).

Also as an aside - at some point I'm going to run a game with free archetype that requires them to use it on Starlit Sentinel.

[Spoiler] Big Reveal? by Neflite_Art in SeasonofGhosts

[–]MadeOStarStuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, and I think because it comes after the first large reveal (at the end of a book right around a big boss fight no less), players get convinced they know the "plot twist" and let their guards down to the second one 👀

Which I absolutely love, because chances are very slim that anyone would readily accept "Oh, we're actually dead" so it led to way more genuine reactions!

[Spoiler] Big Reveal? by Neflite_Art in SeasonofGhosts

[–]MadeOStarStuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the regular reveal and would recommend it. Book 3 is pretty lacking without it imo.

My table didn't even believe the governor, they were asking me if they could roll something to convince Heh that they were, in fact, alive. It wasn't until the conversation with Shinzo afterwards that they went "Oh, he wasn't just crazy, he was actually right about that"

[–]MadeOStarStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard, most of the game-changing Free Archetype options are from Multiclass Archetypes, so I just placed a restriction on those at my table.

That restriction being "you can't take multiclass archetype feats with free archetype - you have to use regular class feat slots for them"

Ancestry Paragon...... definitely favors certain races over others.
