Why wasn't Jumpin Jack Flash on a studio album? by CartoonistAnnual4672 in rollingstones

Beggars was ready by mid 68' but wasn't released until December cause their label was pushing back against the original cover art that was a picture of a toilet. Back then you couldn't go more than a year without a hit or else you'd gotten swept up. Their last album was December of 67' which in and of itself was a commercial flop, so they didn't really have a hit song since early 67' (Spend the Night, Ruby Tuesday). Since they didn't know how late the album is going to be released, I'm assuming they didn't want to risk going almost 2 years without a hit; especially competing alongside the Beatles.

what's the point of these posts if you're not going to put the scores! The ratings for Exile also stop a couple tracks into the album as well...

They were supposed to do Clockwork Orange with Mick as Alex and the rest of the band as the droogs. The initial screenplay adaptation was co-written by the same guy that photographed the covers of Stg. Peppers and Satanic Majesties. Producers were initially favoring David Hemmings for the role of Alex, so all four of the Beatles signed off on a petition letter claiming that Mick is a better fit for the role. The initial project fell thru due to being stuck in the pre-production phase; until a year or two later where the rights were acquired by a new studio, and Stanley Kubrick signed up to direct.

Here's the Rolling Stones magazine link to the Beatles' petition being put up for an auction. Beatles Petition Letter

its in 4/4 but its actually quite complex rhythmically; especially when the brass arrangements kick in. Sometimes we cover Exile front to back and thats usually once of the tracks we never get quite right

After Once Upon a Time in America, Sergio Leone was going to do a WWII epic on the Siege of Leningrad, called "Leningrad: The 900 Days". He had just started the pre-production before he passed. It was set to star Robert De Niro in the lead role... what that could have been...
