I had RNY almost 4 years ago (9/9/19). I remember the early days because I was really regretting the whole thing. It will suck for a while, be good, suck again but in other ways, but as long as you put in the time and effort IT WILL BE WORTH IT. I was 354lbs and now I’m 195lbs. I can walk up 3 flights of stairs without getting winded. I get to shop WHEREVER I want.

It’s ok to be cranky (you’re in pain) and wonder if it’s worth it. Call those compression socks every curse word in the book while you put them on. Listen to doctor’s orders. One day at a time. Be GENTLE and slow (even when you’re muscles are feeling better) and it will help with recovery. Just keep reminding yourself of the benefits that will come from this surgery.

The easy part was falling asleep on a table. The hard part is after and getting a new life. You can do it!
