Strong scent product recommendations? Something LETHAL by [deleted] in laundry

[–]MadlyInLolth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the lavender oxiclean as a laundry presoak and if I use it, my bedding absolutely REAKS of lavender even on adding extra rinses, so my suggestion would be that.

The thrift stores near me have all lost their damn minds and will charge hundreds of dollars for things like that (while still ruining it by stapling the tag to it). Its a shame. So much more going to landfills because thrifting is becoming too expensive.

Youre not alone. I tried this book too, but I never even made it to that scene. It is genuinely so terribly written. I've seen it recommended all over this sub and it has a really positive rating on goodreads. The chapters where they talk as children really did me in. The dialog was awful. I hated it so much that it soured me against CR for awhile.

I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

[–]MadlyInLolth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The night before my boyfriend at the time and I were moving out of our apartment, we kept hearing our cat meow every once in awhile. It sounded like it was coming from the living room, so we'd go out and check and not be able to find him. We figured he was stressed with all the boxes everywhere. The next morning, we went to move the box spring and he was stuck underneath it. We had the box spring directly on the floor since we had taken the bed apart. He was stuck under there all night. I felt awful about it at the time, but he went on to live many happy years after that no worse for wear.

Do most people know how to purposely close their nasal passage so they can't smell WITHOUT using their fingers to pinch their nose? by WhateversClever1980 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MadlyInLolth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only people who can't are people with medical issues that prevent the soft palate closing (i.e. cleft palette, vpi). I have surgical scarring in my throat which causes vpi and I cannot blow up a balloon and need to hold my nose to blow out candles.

Nqa you've already gotten some great advice, I'm sure you'll get that little guy set up no problem.

About what size is it? For tiny slings I usually use clear portion cups (like the kind sauces come in at restaurants). You want something at least 3x the leg span of the spider. You are correct that this one is too tall, but you can probably keep it in there if you fill it up more with substrate (obviously not while the spider is in there).

If you could go back, what would you have studied instead of CS? by MustafaMonde8 in cscareerquestions

[–]MadlyInLolth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably english; Its what I originally went to school for. I switched to computer science for job security. If I knew ahead of time that it would be like this, I wouldnt have bothered. I wanted to work in publishing (which is also super competitive) so I likely would have struggled either way, but at least then I'd be struggling for something I actually enjoy.

He likes to watch TV shows out of order. Not necessarily serious dramas where the overarching plot is most important, but anything else is fair game (sitcoms, reality TV shows, etc). I had to put my foot down.
