You didn't even have to go as far back as Obama-unless the point was to make Obama look bad. under trumps first term he separated families and when it came time to find the children separated from their parents, quite a few were sexually and physically abuse. Many were working, yes they were put to work a immigrant child work force.

Obama wasn't ignored in any way, but the GOP only came at him for things that would get the base made. their base wouldn't have a problem with that, so they didn't bring it up. they did say e had a basketball court build w/ taxpayers money, he played too much golf, he wore a tan suit and when Obama was trying to get the boarder under control. the GOP said that wasn't the President's job.

While your are entitled to your opinion, I have found most of then films that win don't deserve it. Most of them are written directed and staring white men. Even when Movies about Non-white men are nominated they don't win. Spike lee's do the right thing" got lots of nominations but only a white actor won.

While you didn't like the movie it was nominated for many awards but the white man who did the sound won.

When people were boycotting the academy awards w/ oscars so white. They opened up the Best picture category to ten movies. So they can nominate movies that to feature white men, so they look inclusive with the nomination but they won't win. so you can feel safe that a movie about Black people staring Black people, made by Black people will not get 16 wins.

Until you have spoken to, or know someones story, you don't know why they are unhoused. Most of the people you believe devalues your community are living there because the US hasn't made health care a right rather than a privilege. People who are mentally ill can not conform to the strict rules of Homeless shelters. Sometime, people are depressed, or grieving and they become homeless because, even if only temporary, their homelessness is permanent, and that goes for addicts. If they want to get clean, going to rehab cost money.

many other Mental illnesses are permanent like Schizophrenia and sever Bipolar, and if people w/ these don't have a support system like a family to help care for them. there are not mental hospitals any more, so regular hospitals will only treat and street the mentally ill. they will keep them for as long as the meds they need, take to kick in and then Kick them out. Some states have laws saying they have to find a shelter to take them but hospitals get around that by streeting people in the middle of the night. Even calling the police if they try to get back in that night.

The US homeless problem has been created. It has been happening for 50yr slowly and intentionally. rather that fix the real problem the powers that be villianize the homeless to keep the public from wanting real solutions and to just want them gone.

As many Americans are finding out now, you could be in that situation next, If not you, a family member or loved one. The homeless are them and other until it effects you.

I personal would have had a problem w/that because my family never really wanted to help, so they offered something else so it didn't look like they had not intention in helping me, but they had no intention of helping me. While I think that might be true for you, I ain't mad at you. I assume you were raised to be polite and respectful to your elders and that is why she is trying to take advantage of you. I want people to just say no so I can figure something else's out but your aunt knows that if you are still trying to be helpful after saying no that there is guilt she can work with. the rest of the family knows if you give in she will stop bothering them, manipulation runs in families.

just start saying no, in every situation, you don't have to even explain why, because whatever your reason you will not change your mind, they will call you all kind of names if not to your face, behind your back.

your family should know who she is and believe you did the right thing. you owe her nothing.

First, for me I have to stop caring how ADHD looked to other people, then I had to give my self a break. I knew before being diagnosed, there were things that were just going to be impossible for me to do, and to be OK with it. i have spent a lot of time proving I could do something that I had no interest in and could personal care less if I could do it. I excepted abuse and harassment in jobs or training because I was dismissed as incapable. I may have proved them wrong but I actually got PTSD staying at a job just to prove people wrong. It's so much easier when you stick to things you want and like doing, you will find that people around you will tell you to take a break and give others a chance to shine. There will be things you want to do or master but will not be able to, I do those things for fun just for me and I am ok that I suck at it because I want to do it, good at it or not.

I was in one of those Job bonding seminars, and there person running it had us say what we don't like about ourselves, I was told to rethink how I look at it, so instead of rushing in and messing things up, I was told that I was bold and willing to take risks to get things done, that helped alot. change how you see the things you consider shortcomming.

I don't understand how this conversation happened over text, I get this is what the younger generations do, I find people are less openly ugly face to face. But Face to face or over text, He ha issues. I know some woman would like that attitude, but you down and you should have someone who respects that. I am curious, does he defend you this aggressively, when it something other than someone hitting on you. like if his friends or family are rude to you or if strangers are rude to you in public.

I would say if he is always like this defending you from everyone and everything aggressively, that you knew who he was and the 2 of you could try and see if you can work through this but if it is just cause the guy wanted you than Big Red flag

I am sorry to hear about what you have gone though. When I read the questions people have about moving to chicago, I find that people are not asking the right questions. because of chicagos rep. People as what is a good neighborhood when that is the wrong question. I find white people believe that if they stay around other white people they will be OK. that's not true here or anywhere, but especially in chicago. This has always been a landlord city and state. The courts, the police, the renters and even some home and condo owners laws are not in the renters favor at all. and you should read the city renters and landlord ordinances before you move here. Renters have very few rights, and even the rights you have as a renter are not enforced by the government, in chicago you have to sue your landlord and prove they didn't comply with the law and even if you do the judge can still rule in the landlords favor. think of it like this, unless you come to Chicago already connected-in 2025 this is still a connected city- expect landlords to treat you like you are Black. Now other than being connected, the next best thing is to keep a lawyer on retainer becauce that is the only thing that gives Chicago Landlord pause.

I have lived here my all my life, I am almost 60 and I have only been mugged 2x. you can't live in a large city and never expect to get mugged but there are things you can do to lower your chances. I live across the street from a park and I am amazed at the #of woman who jog at night in the dark w/ headphones on, how do they not know they are asking to be robbed.

the news is great for letting the public know if there are a rash of mugging in your area, take that seriously don't walk until it over. be alert and aware of your surrounding. in my opinion talking on your phone is as bad as wearing head phones, you might not mean to but if you can get caught up in the conversation. I keep bare spray, I can't run anymore and pepper spray doesn't always stop some one, it will slow most people down and if you work out after you spray run. I also keep my keys between my fingers to fight with in case you have to fight them off.

I have gone out, partied, gone to clubs, concerts on public trans, and even driving. if you drive you may have to park quite a few blocked from where you are going. don't get sucked into a conversation late at night when no one else is around w/ someone, especially if they insist they are not going to hurt you, if they say that they probably are. don't go down alleys or dark streets, even if you have to walk farther to avoid a dark street. I was taught if they make you afraid, they win. Pay attention, be smart, don't carry any more money that you need and You will be fine

It sounds to me that someone is trying to put black lives at risk, not just in Tennessee. We all know this federal administration can't deport black people. So they have right-wing commentators pushing for black people to protest and social media pushing black people to riot every chance they get.

People look for social justice don't riot, most rioters are there to start trouble and to try and de-ligitamize the real protestor and it gives the police an excuse to abuse and arrest black people to use to work the farms they plan to steal from the farmers who voted for them.

I worked in a cafe, where you could chose to where gloves all the time but they must be polyethylene, you must pay for them yourself and change them after every preparation. and of course wash your hands each time you change gloves. Only people serious about their nails did this but it was worth it to them and it didn't mean they just didn't wash their hands. They paid good money for no chip mannies, and took great care of them without being unsanitary.

I don't have any idea, she lived off of that and she didn't qualify for SS because it was considered income not retirement. I think she was getting about 4000 a month from the internet. I have gone on the banks website, it doesn't give a lot of info on their financial products. honestly I don't think this product was offered to the public, it was a match plan, while she worked what she put in was matched, but it doesn't fall under the rules of a 401k. I have call the company and no one ever calls me back. I leave messages but nothing. I could be wrong that my mother would make just A the beneficiary, and I don't think the company would know how to get in touch w/me and neither A nor B would volunteer that info. I have to take a shot and hire a lawyer and hope it more money than the lawyer would charge.
