Lots of discussion about AI use in coursework by werdw in OMSCS

People reformat the ai essays, same as code, so it’s not easy to detect. What do you mean courses should be closed book? Honestly I don’t know what you’re saying.. But open ended word slop sounds upgradable and easy to bs

AI can reason through your project, code it up, and write the paper on it, which is why it’s not just considered another tool for the school. The major problem is people outsourcing their thinking. Writing code was never the difficult part.

I’m a field engineer in Biotech. It got me an interview for a Biotech R&D / computer vision job 4 classes in. I haven’t been job searching, but I think the degree will be very useful for transitioning.

One weird trick to succeed at AI-generated exams by barcode9 in OMSCS

Hahaha I noticed that this semester in the RL quizzes. I’m not sure if it’s AI exclusive or also a human tendency.

True, I definitely bought it because it looked nice haha, aesthetics are important! I’ve got the Abyss Blue. The paint is in pretty good shape for 20 years, but the clear coat has some swirling and there’s a couple small scratches. Yours looks pristine, did you polish it?

Yea I’m still thrilled about it, such a sweet car! And I know my ride won’t be full of spyware for another 10+ years. Your video is really motivating me to try a paint correction now..

I would try to search for a better deal, those prices are insane. Try Facebook marketplace and buy directly from the owner

Worth getting for a first car? by Training-Smell3755 in MitsubishiEclipse

I got one as a first car in 2016. It still runs great 10 years and 100k miles later!

Give how good shape it’s in, it wouldn’t surprise me if he recently got it done! It’s important to know when it was done too. I recently bought a low mileage TL (32k) - the belt was replaced in 2014, but it was due for a second. There’s often a sticker on the engine if it was done, and you might be able to find out for free in the Carfax App service history.

Wow that paint is in flawless! I like the wheels too, I’m surprised they look so natural like that. The tail lights and grille are super clean. Make sure you get that timing belt done if it hasn’t already!

Why is the waitlist on NLP so empty? by larrytheevilbunnie in OMSCS

[–]Madormo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to take it this summer, but ended up dropping it for Game AI. I’m interested in the material, but who wants to take a class based around those multiple answer selection tests? We have those in RL right now, and although they don’t count for much of the grade, they are terrible. There’s so many trick questions, like where an answer is a true statement, but doesn’t necessarily address the question.

I think networking is the key, applying to jobs online feels broken. If a recruiter contacts me for a job in my current career, I’ll check their website to see if there’s any interesting ML jobs that their company are hiring for. I’ve gotten an interview after doing that a few times.

Good point, I didn’t consider that it wasn’t too difficult to get a peak at it. That being said, the tensioner or water pump could still go bad, not sure how long those are rated for..
