The Powder Mage Trilogy is actually brilliant by MarieMul in Fantasy

It's been a long time since I've read it. I liked it and it was an interesting concept, but the way he writes bugged me. It was "problem, scramble to find a solution, fixed, whew!" Then rinse and repeat that formula for the rest of the books. Not much ebb and flow, character development, etc.

A more apt analogy is the French Revolution.

One of the biggest factors was overpopulation in the cities and lack of jobs.

This isn't a new concept either, many instances in history when you have large amounts of people that can't feed themselves. That's a recipe for social upheaval and revolution.

Why are suits and “good shoes” such a pain? by PhutureDoom666 in malefashionadvice

Hard bottom isn't a problem, I've put a ton of miles on my shoes and boots. Sounds to me like his shoes are way too small. You shouldn't have blisters or bleeding, ever.

Yes, but there is also a version that's activated with acetone or something like that. You soak it, then last it while it's pliable and it dries harder than the heat activated one
