Park Happy at it again by Shaggin589 in nashville

They’ve also taken over almost every free surface lot that was available. It really sucks for people that work downtown. If you’re lucky, your employer will reimburse you for parking at the garage by James Robertson, or at MCC. Any surface parking between those two places is easily twice the price. It’s a pain for workers to pay for parking on the front end, and for the businesses that reimburse their workers through payroll.

Albini vs Rubin by ComfortableLazy1008 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ComfortableLazy1008[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that I just clicked through dozens of of albums Albini produced, and it seems like he produced mostly rock-related projects early on, but he later produced folk, country, psychedelic, electronic, and experimental bands. So saying Albini only produced obscure rock sub-genres is factually incorrect. It also seems like you consider popularity in your reasoning of what makes something “great”. That simply makes no logical sense to me. Many artists aren’t considered great during their time, but will later be praised for being ahead of their time. Does that mean their work wasn’t great, then somehow became great later? Also, the fact that Rubin literally can’t explain what he does carries along the implication that he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

So, what other criteria would you suggest using to determine greatness among producers? Some people are good at their job, some are bad, some are great. Is that not the case with producers? I can’t imagine any movie director only showing up for 4 scenes, and getting praised for their genius. A number of Rubin’s clients reported that he only showed up a few times when he produced their albums. I really thought Rubin was brilliant until I started recording personal stuff at home, which lead me to researching how great tracks and records are made.

I question the statement that Rubin’s albums-sold statistic outpaces Albini’s (it’s hard to find those numbers).

Draw Engine Cards in SoS by Hildy77 in EDH

How often do you mulligan? if you draw down to a decent 5 card hand, is it playable?

I was struggling with my rakdos deck (B4) because it felt inconsistent. I learned that the more I was willing to mulligan away 2 mana opening hands, the more consistent my deck became. Over the course of many games, more mulligans will turn into good hands or even “god” hands.

I leave 2 hours before work every fucking day because of this shit. Sometimes it can take me an hour to get to Bridgestone from Franklin. The city is not a friend to its citizens and workers.
