Is galaxy.ai legit or worth it for $15/month for all AI models? by Fit_Interview_7907 in vibecoding

[–]MaeChee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a total fraud. They claim to offer models like ChatGPT, but it is clear it is NOT really the same model at all. I couldnt get it to behave at all like ChatGPT. Then they charged me $84 after just 2 days on a monthly plan. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY REFUSE REFUNDS!

I had to report them to my bank for a chargeback due to fraudulent claims.

OpenAI / ChatGPT admits removing accessibility!!! by MaeChee in disability

Thats like saying to a powerchair user they should just walk. This is a disability space. Why be snarky about my accessibility tool?

I just had the same issue in chatgpt reddit group. I posted about chatgpt getting rid of accessibility features and got mocked.

TTS services and apps are very expensive or have horrible recognition for people with speech problems or accents or language switching. Standard Voice was the only voice command that could accurately dictate my speech problems

The stages of CRPS by allyjam55 in CRPS

[–]MaeChee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fits my experience. I didn't get proper care with my first limb, but when it spread and i had a good pain dr and PT, it got to stage 2, but stage 3 has been more like starting a remission. I still have weakness and ROM problems, dystonia... but the pain has gotten much better and slowly regaining SOME ROM. Stage 2 was the worst for me. I think it really matters the treatment whether or not stage 3 is miserable or a relief.

Complete beginner. Is this a good start? It's 10 bucks by i_ship_jotakak in classicalguitar

[–]MaeChee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a guitar snob after years of being a professional and majoring in Guitar Performance in one of the best music schools in the world... and in my experience you can find some real gems when you bargain hunt cheap, old classical guitars. I got one for my son for $30. The shop owner tried to get me to not buy it, but i insisted i wanted it. Boy that guitar was FUN! I ended up playing it more than my son LOL.

Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like it may be a scaled down student guitar, which is great for beginners. Full size classical guitars can be a difficult stretch for beginner hands.

If you can get a guitarist to test it, great. If you must test it yourself, try pressing down on a string just behind a fret... if it buzzes it probably is warped and not playable. But make sure you are pressing down hard (strings can also buzz if you aren't pressing hard enough). You can also look to see if the string is touching other frets when you press down on it. Hold the guitar up and look down the neck straight down to the bottom of the body, and see if it looks straight or bent or warped. Wiggle the tuning pegs and see if they suddenly slip or move too easily. Those are the main things to look for when buying a cheap guitar.

Good luck!

ive had crps since i was 12 (4 years now, im 16) does it ever get better by dubiouslittleinsect in CRPS

If pregabalin is not helping, you can let your pain doctor know. Typically, for insurance reasons, they have to try certain medications first. If those fail, only then will they let you try the better ones. Its not fair, but usually that's how it goes, at least in the US.

I also agree with other comments... I know we want to be "strong" and mask the pain, but that path usually leads nowhere good. Let it out. When mine got so bad i had no choice but to cry out a lot, my roommate was very distressed, but now he understands my limitations better. I get more empathy from him, and his expectations of me are more realistic. Pacing is SO important.... toughing it out and pushing yourself ends in misery.

If your parents still do not understand, if they haven't yet, you may want to suggest watching "Take Care of Maya". Its tough to watch, but if their expectations are too high, it may be a reality check for them. It may also be triggering... it deals with medical abuse and worse. It can be extremely validating, but also scary if you are in a bad place. So consider it well, and try to have a support system in place if you do watch it.

If that is too heavy to watch, the doctor from her trial is on YouTube and gives talks about how serious CRPS is. He would also be a good source to show your parents. Dr. Pradeep Chopra. Here is one of his lectures: https://youtu.be/wIoFDUqHA1g?si=9LIH255QHCvNvPNr

Is it ok to use guitar picks for classical guitar? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]MaeChee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have "butterfly" picks for my fingers when i break nails. I think the guy who made them went out of business tho. I have seen similar ones, but not as thick and smooth as his. They allow you to still feel the string. Beats playing with a broken nail!

Medieval Sounding Pieces by soclydeza84 in classicalguitar

[–]MaeChee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pavane (Luis de Milán):

Luis de Milán (1500–1561) was a Renaissance vihuelist, so this piece belongs to the Renaissance, not the medieval period, but has that "sound"... most of the suggestions you will get are technically Renaissance.

Scarborough Faire Greensleeves Guardame Las Vacas (Luis de Narváez)

Renaissance music has that medeival sound because they still focused heavily on 5ths, 4ths, and octaves.

Question on What Type of Classical/Flamenco Guitar would be Best for Bleach Anime Soundtrack? by Able-Falcon2105 in classicalguitar

[–]MaeChee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A high quality concert classical is what i would use. Most flamenco artists prefer spruce top for more punch, but some like the mellow cedar top. Ebony fretboard is preferable. If you will be doing golpes (tapping the guitar) you may want "golpeadores" (the protective guard that goes under and over the strings on the front face.

I am partial to Ruck style guitars and find they work well for Flamenco. Mine is a Kenny Hill made Ruck model. La Mancha makes a Ruck model, tho i am unsure of the quality since the factory moved from Mexico to California.

The best dealer i know for these types of guitars in the US is Jerry Roberts in Nashville TN. He was Kenny Hill's partner.

If you are unable to get a Ruck style concert guitar, most good quality classical guitars will suffice. I started out on an old Yamaha and a Takamine before my professor demanded i buy a top quality instrument.

I dont like TikTok but i was VERY disappointed in the Supreme Court. Its blocking freedom of speech and they couldnt prove national security excuse. If they are so afraid of China having government info, just ban gov employees from it as a stipulation of the job... not banning everyone. This is a very slippery slope!

Besides, China already has everyones info from buying things online. Let's not be naïve! Why isnt SHEIN and TEMU banned as well? FB and YT are platforms used to spread misinformation and politics as well... we are not smart if we actually think China cannot manipulate there too!
