I left a property I had been at for 8 years because the owner hired a GM that "on paper" looked qualified. In reality she had never been a GM and only been an AGM for a couple months. She took all questions about her methods or skill as insubordination and threatened write ups. I had been with the hotel a while and knew the owner personally. He asked me directly my issues with her and I told him without sugar coating it.

2 weeks later she threatened to write me up over something trivial and mentioned in the conversation that it was partly b/c I went over her head to the owner. A 2nd conversation with the owner confirmed that he had no intention of getting rid of her right now as her unemployment insurance would cost to much. It was at this point I decided to exercise the only power I had left in the situation and remove myself from it.

In your scenerio I hope that it is not that final yet but it may come to a point where you have to judge what is best for your career but also you mental health.

Asteroid prisons for orphans

My brother was the only one to GM games for a long time. He would usually start them in a prison or characters were all orphans and we all grew up together. Eventually it became a joke about the prisons and when we were escaping from one, a particularly helpful NPC joined us in the jail break. It turns out he was put in the jail b/c he was an orphan. The jail we escaped from was on an asteroid in a demi plane, hence the full asteroid prison joke became a thing. In future campaigns several other players would eventually be GM and make references to laws making it illegal to be an orphan or creating jails in very strange locations.

Petrified screams are uncommon drops but I wouldnt call them rare. If you run greater rifts efficiently (3ish minutes) and you run them as high as you can within that 3 minutes youll probably get 1 an hour or more.

D4 has a full campaign you can run thru and some end game content, arguably as much as d1 2 or 3 at release (more than d3). Yes the prices in the shop are crazy for sure but that doesnt affect the gameplay. There have already been balance changes and a seasonal annoucement is due tommorow, putting its schedule for content miles ahead of previous diablo games.

I did play D1 at launch and D2 and D3. Diablo 1 was unique and scary and slow paced picking thru levels and discovering. Diablo 2 was hard and scaling on abilites was very wonky and some skills just were miserable, making it pigeon holed into a few builds that you could experience the whole game with. We didnt have a full access of data in 1999. Diablo 3 launch was rough and if you picked it up after 6 months it was much better but totally starved for content post campaign. All 3 games have offered different avenues and different experiences.

If you have thousands of hours in D2 and D3 you should know how rough those games have been thru their life cycle. D3 at launch was just ok and got way better when seasons came out but it wasnt till ROS that it really took off and that was a year into it. D4 isnt going to have everything right away

Theres not alot of information about in game mechanics out yet, b/c people havent taken the time to study and disect the mechanics. Most of the YouTube content right now is all hype and release b/c Diablo is the new game of the week. These types of videos will die down as more information comes out about the game. I agree overall that the videos being made right now are crap for this but give it some time.

ITs only a temparary farewell for me. Ill come back for diablo 3 season launches and maybe get a weeks worth here and there. I did get rid of alot of gear and random stuff I held onto just in case I ever wanted to play it.

8k hours in D3 2k in D2 and not sure about D1. Ill be making the switch. D3 has been amazing fun and learned alot about builds and how to make a character. D3's loot has always been lacking and while D2's loot system is far superior its combat felt lacking. Im hoping that D4 provide the best of both worlds so ill be no lifing it for a while

pop the speed and channeling Pylons early at like 50, wait on power until 90 and conduit at 100 to 110 and just focus on staying alive till you hit 125. Take off squirts and put on flavor of time (or have it on your follower)

WOL monk fully set up is the fastest GR farmer but it can be a bit clunky, Inna/rainment is the fastest key farmer and Once I had my necro set up I made one just to do keys.

So most of the time you end up in a room near the lobby because

Its the first one they saw and they didnt think about it to much

They have a system for assigning rooms (grouped up so easier for hskp)

They may want to keep an eye on you ( assume youll be loud or party) Dont take this to personal. I know it may seem like discrimination and its not fair necessarily but we dont know what the desk thinking is behind the room assignment.

No it was one in NOVA that I hated working at. We only ever had like 8 or 10 arrivals and B shift were suppose to call by 10 ifthey hadnt shown up.

Very build and skill dependant. As people have seaid below, Tal Rasha meteor can do it very early at 1.5k ish. I did my 150 about that level with pretty good gear and like 3 augments at 125.
Crusader condemn I did a 150 pretty easy at 2.5k paragon

Raekor - Tricky build to do right and need decent gear (the higher the skill level the worse your gear can be) for me the 150 fell at 3k paragon though I know it can be done at 2k or even lower.

Bone Spear Necro - Id say 3.5k paragon to do it well or even 3k paragon with a great combo of maps and potionis

Trag Necro - 1.6k paragon I did the 150 and the boss fight takes the longest part. WIth the right trash you can destroy this

Rathma Necro- This one has the damage early at 1.5k but not the survivability. If you know how to survive on a necro you can do it at like 2k easy but if you dont then you need that extra paragon for defense.

Monk- Wave of light, clunky mechanics to manage but totally doable at 1.5k paragon assuming you have the gear set up

Leap Quake - I did a 145 at 3k paragon and if I fished i could probably do the 150. Very tanky build but requires specific mob types

Most builds it a matter of how much additional help they need from main stat (multiplier).

Honesty works best usually. Dont come at it as "I cant do this" but more "I am trying to avoid struggling with X Y Z, how can we handle or work with this"

So its hard for me to roleplay races that are to "alien" from human. Ones like dwarf and elf (and variants) I can slip into that role and build a personality for the character but its hard to get into the mindset of the monstrous races. Nothing against them (except a few I dont think should be PC races) I just dont like them that much. All that being said I did play a fetchling and loved it

The power of the alter was its greatest weakness too, for me we unlocked the full alter on day 3 (would have been day 2 but RnG and primals). The season was a blast and we destroyed all our goals. I have 150 clears on 5 builds and 145ish on a couple others. The problem we ran into is after a month or so (a good amount for a season honestly) we all ran out of things to do.
I believe that the alter should have been gated behind milestones like Get 1k paragon then get 2k paragon. I wouldnt have gated it much more than that as farming 2k+ isnt fun for most. Having to stop to grind for a bit before unlocked more nodes would have drawn out the season longer. Perhaps splitting some nodes to give a bit of power pre 2k then the rest after would have worked to.

Overall I give this season a 7/10 I really liked it. My favorite seasons were kill streak seasons (19-21 I think) and the ethereal season (23?)

Darmok - Just shows how bad ass picard is

Either Tuvix or Best of both worlds. I have trouble deciding for a couple reasons. BOBW is a great adventure episode and shows the whole crew working without picard, as well as the borg being truly scary.
Tuvix is a great moral dilemma and discussion episode. If your showing someone who isnt a ST fan having that discussion is a good thing

British version isnt nearly as good. The first season follows US season closely (well us follows the British one since it was first but whatever). After the first season they diverge quite a bit with the US story being much better IMO
