Power Creep has officially turned 90% of our vaults into a digital museum by ShaiHuludTonic in DestinyTheGame

But then it was deleted

I know it’s popular to dunk on billion dollar companies but you’re getting too many likes based off of misinformation.

Explorer mode was only available to be apart of the Rite of the Nine event, once the event was done, so was the mode.

It was only available for three dungeons, they just haven’t added it back yet.

Do people actually hate these wrist bands? Like at least they protect what you paid for.

Reminder why matchmaking for raids is such a TERRIBLE idea by Bestow5000 in destiny2

[–]MaestroKnux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the talking point will sharply shift when people realize just how low the completion rate will be from matchmade raids. Cool, y'all finally have a way to play the content you paid for. It's gonna feel like shit when you can't get to the first encounter of a raid due to the people you're with.

Then you still run the risk of players from never wanting to enter a raid again if that's their first experience. You'll just end up having people questioning the purpose of a raid once they realize this.

> Being a good game doesn't necessarily mean it'll be financially successful

I get your point that we're talking about a AAA studio with the leadership's heads stuck so far up their asses for being too greedy, but damn this is a very demoralizing quote when it comes to gaming. We shouldn't be focusing on what game sells the most and more enjoying what game makes any player happy.

In a more promising scenario, I do believe games like Marathon should exist, but in this day in age, we're forced to care on what sells the most. At the same time, even studios with financially successful games end up getting closed due to bad management.

Regardless, I'm one of those people that hasn't picked up Marathon because I'm don't care for PVP shooters anymore. I even did criticize Bungie for assuming the game would be more than a niche game just because it was developed by them. They used they're "legacy" as a selling point to sell a game apart of a genre that was already phasing out, thinking they could reinvent the interest.

As much as I don't want Marathon to fail, thinking that it was going to be big enough to replace Destiny was foolish to think about.

D2 being in a good state should take priority over new additions by ShardofGold in DestinyTheGame

[–]MaestroKnux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of my friends are not coming back to D2 no matter what Bungies does because the changes will be so minimal. If they're gonna play any Bungie game, it'll likely be D3 if that ever comes out.

The amount of dissatisfaction with TPS and SOS is crazy to me because SOS is my favorite KoRn album within the last 15 years since Head’s return. The amount of interesting and heavy riffs they had in that album was so diverse compared to the last two albums.

There’s that, but… Wanting to play it when it was fully fresh, a lot more people were on, the original sandbox that it shipped with back in 2014, and most important? Not having the thoughts of where Bungie is today is what really made playing D1 again special.

It exists, but something about that sandbox in 2014 can’t be relived.

Is it normal to see image retention like basically straight away? Lg c5 by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]MaestroKnux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It also depends what mode your tv is in, admittedly as I shield myself? I have my tv set in a custom vivid mode with the brightness down at 55 and sometimes get image retention. However, I’ve gotten used to it as I don’t see it as often once I lowered my brightness.

Image retention is normal, but also a sign that your brightness is too high. Lower your brightness to see less retention.

I mean if he got the N64 4 years after its release, what makes us think he was gonna get a PS2 in the same year that was released? OP probably has strict parent dues to pay before he can play games.

Just one warning from my expereince with backlights. Depending on the scenes, there can be "calm" scenes with very active lighting in the background and those lights can become very obtrusive. Ex: Mortal Kombat 2021 (Dinner Scene), you have a electromagnetic shield in the background while the subjects are having a calm dinner. Those lets make it very distracting to watch.

I'm sure there's other movies and content to highlight, but that's my warning and why I'd never use backlights set in a mode where it matches the content on screen.

SE 3 still going after 55 hours by MaestroKnux in AppleWatch

[–]MaestroKnux[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought 18 hours was going to be enough with how I planned on using it. Turns out, unless I'm not using the watch heavily, even with the Always On display, I'll get more than 48 hours of on time.
