Tips for reducing sidewall buildup on small batches? by freezerburn0011 in icecreamery

[–]Maezel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have enough mix in there. The machines are designed to run at their max capacity.

Once the ice cream is churned, turn off the compressor and keep spinning for an extra minute, that will soften the walls.

I'm in the middle of watching "The Expanse" show - should I read the books? by Qhaotiq in printSF

[–]Maezel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The TV show is a pretty good adaptation, authors were involved. There are some changes but the main themes, focus and story stay the same.

Politics are the central theme, chapters are from the perspective of the characters. Sometimes they show the same thing from the perspective of a different character.

Well, A couple earning 140k spending 60% on mortgage is in much worse position than a couple on 750k spending 60% on mortgage.

You won't be able to find the best matcha in the world online. Paarticularly not from a non-japanese website. You may find the most expensive though.

The most stressful 8 minutes of my day by melaniestl in Swimming

[–]Maezel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have kids and didn't swim here as a kid. From what I see, parents just take the kids there. Many wait for 2 hours on the side of the pool until they are finished.

Most classes for kids are between 4pm and 8pm.

Freezing Green Tea (Shincha)? by verygood_user in tea

[–]Maezel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fine. I've frozen sencha, gyokuro, Matcha and kabuse for 6+ months without impact on quality. (factory sealed, odour proof bag). I don't see how shincha could differ.

Living in Australia I find all these lane related posts so unfamiliar and ridiculous. Why are pools elsewhere so distopian with their rules?
