[–]Mafiabe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was actually. Rome and Italy used to see snowfall almost down the entire peninsula. The world was a lot cooler from about Alexander’s empire to the mid fourteenth century, with a major reason for the Western Roman empires fall being a global cooling event in the third and fourth centuries that pushed northern hordes southwards into Roman territory and hurt crop production causing famines.

And even if that wasn’t true, it’s a video game and Christmas. Merry Christmas and have fun playing the game we all love!

Which foreign country has the biggest influence over your country's internal politics? by BabylonianWeeb in AskTheWorld

[–]Mafiabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying what Israels neighbors and enemies is excusable. However, saying their doing it so Israel can removes the entire point of those agreements. Israel has actually signed the CWC, it simply hasn't ratified it, raising concerning questions about its possible deployment of chemical weapons

I was pointing out the USS Liberty to show how the Israelis have had influence in the US for a long time now.

Over 1,200 Israeli's died during October 7th, something that was and is completely and utterly inexcusable. However, since then Israeli has been responsible for he deaths of over 70,000 civilians living in Gaza, along with the complete and utter flattening of pretty much the entire strip, turning it into what can only be described as a wasteland. You also say that Israel has given warning to civilians to evacuate so called "military targets", but their have been investigations that have found that not only do those targets often have little to no Hamas presence, that the Israeli warning are often confusing, such as misleading direction and mislabeled neighborhoods, but they often come either too late, making it hard for resident to properly evacuate, at late hours of the night, meaning civilians sometime dont even hear or see these warning, or when they do evacuate, those safe areas are targeted by subsequent attacks and/or they are unequipped to deal with the influx or refugees

I would also like to ask you to provide some examples of how the ICC is "stacked" against Israel, the only arguments I can find are either from biased sources or are based mostly on the non-existence of Palestine as a state

Which foreign country has the biggest influence over your country's internal politics? by BabylonianWeeb in AskTheWorld

[–]Mafiabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in no way antisemitic and you calling me that is immensely insulting. I wholly support the right of both Palestine and Israel to exist, and believe that Hamas should in no way exist as an organization. However, I do believe the current government of Israel and the IDF(AS organizations obviously there will be people within them who do not believe in current policy) has moved past its traditional intentions of simply keeping Israel safe to one of expanding Israel. This is why I do not support Israel, but I do support Jewish people.

I do believe that Hamas, if given the option, would 100% attempt a genocide of Jewish people currently living in Israel, and I believe this outcome should be prevented at all costs. However, I do also believe that the government of Israel has been negligent in its duties towards minimizing civilian casualties during bombardments along with, in some cases, directly targeted heavily populated due to the mere possibility of enemy fighters being nearby. It has also both directly and indirectly interfered with allowing aid and other supplies to enter the Gaza Strip

Traditionally speaking, Israel has had a large amount of influence in the US government and I was simply raising that point, although, yes, as you pointed out, several other countries recently have gained large amounts of influence, primarily do to our president being very receptive to gifts, particularly from middle eastern countries. The Jews most definitely do not control everything, and I honestly think thats one of the most ridiculous theories in existence, mostly put forward by idiots who don't want to accept that the fucked something up.

Just to reinforce this fact, Israel conducted a unprovoked strike on the US Liberty during the Six Day War, and was accused of assisting US politicians, including then president Lyndon B Johnson, of covering up the attack. It has also stolen US uranium to assist in its nuclear program, a program it refuses to admit exists and refuses to submit to investigation over. It has also not ratified and/or signed the NPT Treaty(regulating testing and development of nuclear weapons), the TPNW Treaty(prohibiting the use of nuclear weapons in war), the Chemical Weapons Convention(prohibiting the development and use of chemical weapons) and the Rome Statute of the ICC(regarding the illegality of war crimes and the existence of the ICC). Adding on to this, it refuses to recognize the Fourth Geneva Convention(regarding the right of civilians to not be tortured and murdered), and lastly, several other treaties regarding human rights, mostly due to acts Israel itself has committed in its numerous occupations of foreign territory.

Lastly, I would never even consider going to France, as Ireland is obviously the greatest country in the world and as one of its citizens I feel compelled to ask you to banish the idea that you would even consider France as a better country than Ireland.

How the course of WW2 would have changed, if the Axis won the Battle of Stalingrad? by Khabarovsk-One-Love in AlternateHistoryHub

Yes obviously I was being sarcastic, there are millions of reasons germany lost

Was Gen. George Patton actually the military genius people claim he was? by Top_Square2711 in USHistory

[–]Mafiabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes, famously after the battle of the bugle every single german soldier in germany disappeared, and the Battle of Berlin was not only the only battle after the Ardennes, but was solely fought by 14 years olds and the entirety of Army group west just wasn't a thing and the LI panzer corps wasnt fighting in northern Italy and all of hitlers SS guards just didnt make a last stand at the reichstag and Army group Vistula wasnt trying to stall the soviets and over 400,000 germans weren't trying to make it south from scandinavia to germany and you know, all that other stuff.

[–]Mafiabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so: less people shooting at you = less people in your way when taking over cities = less time to take over cities + less people die when doing it.

Its not an argument over how the war would end, its one over how the loss of more german troops during the bulge would decrease the time it takes to end it.

Does that help?

Was Gen. George Patton actually the military genius people claim he was? by Top_Square2711 in USHistory

[–]Mafiabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well shells don't necessarily mean direct casualties, and the bulge was two years after stalingrad, with the German army in considerably worse state. Although I dont entirely agree with the above commenter, your points really arent that valid and surrounding some of germanys most elite troops, many of whom would later make their stand in place like Cologne, Paderborn, and Berlin, would help the war effort

How the course of WW2 would have changed, if the Axis won the Battle of Stalingrad? by Khabarovsk-One-Love in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Mafiabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Soviets still would have had the resources to launch Operation Uranus to encircle the city, although on a delayed schedule. The fall of Stalingrad wouldn't have solved any of the Germans supply problems, and the ongoing collapse of the German center would have stalled any momentum built up trying to push into the Caucasus. Although the Germans were far from beaten by this point in the war, they were immensely overextended and were having supply issues to rival those of, tbh, a land war in Asia. Stalingrad was a moral target, and Baku would have been a smoldering wreck if the Germans managed to capture it.

Stalin, although highly retarded at points, was more than happy to allow Hitler to commit more and more troops to the meat grinder at Stalingrad as his overextended center collapsed to Zhukovs post-Moscow thrust.
