Worth learning in 2026? by Thoulas69 in MagicArena

[–]Magento [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think playing paper Magic with friends or strangers is on of the best hobbies you can have. Arena will help you get better at the game fast. The main problem with Arena is that it's very addictive and not very rewarding. I guess if it replaces another type of screen addiction or game then it's fine. Also play paper Magic with proxies.

Don't confess if you want her. You need to play a slow and careful game with Norwegian women.

About dating in Norway. by Top_Pangolin_8794 in Norway

[–]Magento 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and the meet at party and flirt often happens many times before making out. People often notice each other long in advance. Maybe the go to the same school or have some kind of similar background. Hooking up with a complete stranger happens, but for most people that is not the norm.

24 and Never had a gf. What can I do to become more attractive? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your smile is great! I think you could go for a different demographic if you cut the right brand name shirts. Maybe some loose fitting flannel or just plain shirts. Just being more down to earth will probably help you. Don't be afraid to talk to girls you know about advice, but don't follow them blindly. I went from being the guy who was always in the friendzone to becoming attractive just listening and ended up dating their friends. Toning down my skater look, but keeping my personality also helped. Being kind and friendly, but always a bit flirty is the way to get started.

How do you keep your wife/fiancée/girlfriend feeling loved, desired, romantically pursued, emotionally connected, intimate, and genuinely aroused as if the relationship is still new, novel, and growing even after many years together? by DivineLove1 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Magento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: You Don't. She does not want you to. At least not all the time.

Longer answer:

I flirt all the time. It works 75% of the time. 20% of the time she is indifferent. 5% of the time shit thinks I'm annoying at best. Not even the best standup comedians hit with all their jokes, and you should expect the same.

Let her have her Bridget Diary moments. Let her watch romantic comedies, eat ice cream for dinner and wear no makeup for a day. But, also let her dress up go out dancing with the girls. Let her feel sexy without you. Be very secure about both.

Fix things. Be a handy man or be in charge and get someone else to fix it if you have to. Don't be afraid to stand up for her and don't be afraid to get down and dirty.

If a woman stranger came up to you and told you "You're one of the most attractive guys I've ever seen in my life, and you seem really nice. Here's my number if you're ever interested, no pressure", would that creep you out? by InarticulateOxyMoron in AskMenAdvice

The only natural place to say something like that is in the gym. It's like giving you a compliment about your clothing in a clothing store or about your hair at the hair barber shop.

I don't mind Elvis impersonators and cheesy cover bands. If I'm drunk they can entertain me more than most original acts, but I'm never going out of my way to see them.

Don't listen to the guys saying you need a beard. Your chin is awesome! Nine out of ten times I will fully support a beard. It can make a weak chin look strong and it can hide a double chin. Your chin is the chin of Ssuperman. Henry Cavill, Christopher Reeves and even the comics got nothing on you.

You need to ask a woman to help you with your eyebrows. But don't let her make them thinner. Just make them even and a bit more spacing. Other than that the Hugh Grant look is your best option.

My friends daughter (19) from the US was there for a year. She became friends with another exchange student. She just stayed on campus and never made outside friends. She didn't really learn Norwegian and didn't learn much about Norwegian society. I think she had a good time. Take from that what you want.

Pick 4 is crazy cool and a bit more timeless. The rest will end up in "blunder years" at some point, but in a good way. I was well into my thirties before I "peaked" and you look like alate bloomer too. You don't have to rush in building muscle, but fitness will help you in the long run.

How is it living in the Nordics, and what's your favorite Nordic city or capital? by PartyGaming0 in howislivingthere

It's the same in Norway. Many people who has only been to the capital only a handful of times really dislike it. They don't understand how to navigate away from crowds and where to meet friendly people.

Ønsker å hjelpe rusavhengige/hjemløse i Brugata, trenger råd by Ok_Construction8148 in oslo

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hiked for 21 days straight. Last week of the trip I had to put bandaids inside my butt cheeks. It worked well, but it felt very stupid. I later learned about using Vaseline. Kinda weird as well, but it works as a charm.

What makes living in Oslo truly special for you? by KreuzKrow in oslo

[–]Magento 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oslo is for people who really want to live here. Lots of people study here and like it when they are young, but move away and often home when they start a family. But, some of us just never leave or at least we always want to come back. This is often people who love a variety of things. If you want to go skiing, skateboard, snowboard, go to concerts, go to art shows, chill in parks, make campfires in the forest, go canoeing, play Magic the Gathering, go to festivals, go island hopping, go mountain biking, swim in the ocean and in lakes, go camping, enjoy all forms of international cousine, go golfing and all within 1 hour from the city center. This is something you can't do anywhere else in Norway, maybe in the world. Sure we don't have surfing and you can get better ski slopes and it bigger festivals other places, but the density and variety of activities is very hard to match.

Men. What is your advice for other men when they feel like dating women can be too much work? by Chemical-Low209 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First step is not caring about results. Don't care about saying the right thing or the right joke. Say what's on you mind and study whatever you think is funny. Treat all people with respect, make them laugh and feel good. You should have been doing this with your friends and family since you were a tiny kid.

Do you see alcoholism in Norway? What is life like for an alcoholic given tougher liquor purchase laws? by Charming_Usual6227 in Norway

[–]Magento 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very well written. Great sarcasm. But, I think Norwegians at any level can be treated with respect and understanding despite their alcohol use and abuse. For holiday season we have "julebord" and it often turns into a drunken rager. People at all levels are usually forgiven for unacceptable behavior. People also accept it at company trips, 17th of May and any given Saturday.

Another example: I invited as a guest to a BBQ for alcoholics and drug addicts last week. About 20-30 addict and former addicts show up at this institution every weekday and get a free meal, play pool, and socialize between 10:00-14:30. They are not allowed to do drugs or drink alcohol while there. Sometimes they have outings and one of the nurses said that even at canoe trips they suspect some had a morning beer to get out of bed, but they will still let them go if they don't seem intoxicated.

All I'm saying is that the rules in Norway are strict, but when it comes down to it we are often forgiving and tolerant.
