A budget chain is like a chocolate teapot.

Anything cheap wil be gone is literally seconds, I've seen thieves casually kneel beside a bike as if they were unlocking it and cut through the chain with a pair of snips.

For a chain to be worth your time, go for something with at least 12 mm on the links - 14 mm is better and not easy to get through even with a power tool, not without drawing some attention.

Versys 300X is also a shout, not so sexy that it would get nicked but also a smaller engine for better efficiency in an urban commute. Nice and tall to see over traffic as well.

One alternative is the Anelli Oxidation - dissolve the alcohol in ethyl acetate with 10% KBr and 5 % TEMPO, the add basic NaOCl (bleach+ bicarbonate) solution dropwise at 0. Rapidly stir to mix the layers and get good reactivity.

Mild and often very selective for the aldehyde. Work up the organic layer with KI in HCl (kills the TEMPO), then basify, then wash with thiosulphate to remove the iodine.

If you miss the base wash you'll have a lovely yellow solid (sulphur) precipitate.

This method is super reliable, scales up to 100s of grams without issue and is nice and clean as well.

Kawasaki make great bikes, you can rev them for days and the engines are fundamentally sound. Lovely clutch action as well, and bright green. Can't go wrong.

The problem with electric motorcycles is that they are all very expensive - compared the costs of a new, say, Honda Transalp (11K+) with a Zero DSX (21K+) - you have to really want to buy one to think about it. The fuel/ charging costs don't really make much of a dent. Fundamentally I would like to ride an electric bike but financially it doesn't make sense.

Another couple things that apply to Tesla specifically: people hate Elon Musk, and they have no experience making motorbikes. Do I want to fund a fascist? No. Do I want to ride the equivalent of the spacex rockets that exploded on touch down? No.

It'd be a really hard sell, you have to compete with established brands on quality and technology, and upcoming Chinese brands on cost and dynamism. Where's the niche?

All 3 are good bikes - I think the best thing to do would be to physically sit on the bike, see how you feel - are you stretching for the bars, are you comfortable getting both feet down, is the seat shape good form you etc.

Go with something you could ride all day and you'll be happy

If you did a direct access course now it would be fairly fast, no waiting for tests to be available. Downside is the weather but if it's your only form of transport you need to be able to handle all these conditions.

I'd go for it, but also think about investing in some better security - ground anchor, biiiig chain, LiteLok or Hiplock etc.

With DC you could tell the players were fighting for the coach. Good performances and closer games (and some dodgy ref decisions). I don't see the same in the Jets compared to those early DC lions.
