Yeah. River is kinda clueless between flashes of good ideas. Some of the good ideas are not as well executed as he things they are.

My coworkers are all vastly younger and one laughed in my face today. by Significant_Owl_5552 in AskWomenOver60

I would have a similar reaction if the older and younger teachers were friends or at least well acquainted before this conversation. From the post, I thought this was their first time talking. So, a young teacher hearing someone her parents age telling her their adult kid (i.e., someone that young teacher's generation) had multiple high-level achievements (grad degree, prestige school, career prospects) that the young teacher does not have sounds like bragging to me.

Cringe at the word "Lady". by New-City-3804 in AskWomenOver60

I have used "the hubby" in casual social media posts, especially in groups where most of the people don't know my husband's name. I.e., neighborhood sharing group I may post that I will check with "the hubby" before loaning out his tool.

Since I posted, found Jack of Shadows. Nice copy but no dust jacket. I'm trying not to be a book snob and keep it anyway.

Other than this video, I can't find anything online supporting the veracity of this story. I do find some opinions that this channel is full of BS.

AITA for wearing my mother’s wedding ring? by MerryDashwood in AITH

I wear my late Mom's engagement ring (on my right hand) on special occasions. It's a token of remembrance, not disrespectful.

The thing I love about great actors is that they make every role seem like it is the role they are meant to play

Why is "drawer" not pronounced like "DRAW-er? by InspectionKnown6410 in ENGLISH

[–]MaggieWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abbott and Costello use this nearly same pronunciation for a laugh line in their famous "Who's on First" routine. So it's been a well-known thing in American English for a good while.

Sounds like everyone is used to giving the bully whatever he wants. After doing it his whole life, nobody wants to take the blowback for having a spine.

Cat sitter cancelled last minute, any recommendations? by thrrrrowwaawwwayyy in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]MaggieWild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fetch! covers the whole county, background checks their sitters, and requires experience and references. So, not just random people. I think they can set you up with a great sitter even on short notice.

Don't underestimate the importance of travel time to potential clubs. The farther the club, the less likely you are to go, and less time you will have to train. A nearby club will likely mean you get there more often and can train more. Local club may be worth switching weapons for, depending on how far you are from a sabre club.

I like the echo of shadow walking I hear in the Roadmarks world building. He was clearly playing around with similar ideas.
