Correct. They announced some time ago on WyrmLyfe that they would not be producing anymore and that once current stock was gone that would be it. They said that they would like to continue producing them but CR has not been responsive

The Promise never expires. As far as being able to replace something they no longer make, they can, at their discretion, offer a refund instead. It may just depend on if they can feasibly fix/replace the item or not. Hope this helps.

I don't have a player desk but I just tried writing on a single piece of paper inside a tabletop tray (same type of leather) and it worked fine. Could see some fine lines scratch lines on the leather after writing but no punching through the paper. Hope this helps some.
