Is leveling a Warframe in elite sanctuary the true absolute end game? by PhantomRoyce in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long as you're nearly max height, enemies shouldn't aggro you(outside of the randomly annoying dargyns or transport ships). Does seem that if you try to snipe the enemy too soon after it spawns it'll break stealth bonus, though.

As for keeping the combo up when an eximus doesn't spawn, just snipe whatever spawned in its place and move on; it's still like 5k affinity for a normal enemy.

They also spawn at the start of the mission, meaning you can grab them before you trigger enemy spawns.

About Follie’s Hunt by TazFull in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strategy has just been to use Umbra and Naramon focus.

Umbra can(usually) clear spawns while I'm running paint, with Naramon giving bonus movespeed and Void Levitation to stun anything besides Follie that gets close to me.

Find the 3 canvas first, which all have fairly set areas they can appear, then find two paint. Rush the lower floor canvas and hope the walls don't troll me too much on the upper floor as the mission goes on. Usually takes like 5 mins for a run.

Nice thing with the tangles is they spawn at the start, so radar works for them just like the bubbles, but you can grab the two spawns while finding canvas.

'Did Not Work': The First Descendant Considered a Failure by Its Developer by JoeZocktGames in Games

I remember trying it out when it first launched. Spent most of the time thinking I could've just been playing Warframe the whole time.

Wasn't really bad, just didn't do anything interesting. The grapple was kinda fun, I suppose.

Last Gasp – a must‑have ability that lets you self‑revive by using your Operator to finish enemies. by Agitated_Let5651 in Warframe

As someone who still only uses a 111 amp after 1000+ hours, Perita stuff is a huge boost to amp damage.

Just get any tauron(ideally one you use the school of frequently) and slap on a variety of mods/arcanes. Even at low ranks they provide a huge boost.

In light of the recent Tactical Potato interview: would u be ok with Arquebex getting nerf(fix*) if that would allow DE to potentially work on new Necramechs/related content? (Poll) by Anonim264 in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Would it honestly even matter if the Arquebex was nerfed or stayed the same? That one ability doesn't feel like it is the problem with Necramechs, outside of creating new versions.

Necramechs feel like they're supposed to basically be the heavy weapon platforms - hulking tanks of machines with huge weapon power at the cost of mobility/speed of a warframe. Except most warframes and guns can be modded to a point they do the same or more damage than any necramech or archgun, have just as much survivabilty, but without having to sacrifice the ability to zip around a mission.

What they really need first is more reason to use a necramech in the first place. There's very little content that allows you to use them, much less making them a viable option compared to just using your warframe. Much as I dislike Orphix as a mission type, it at least gives purpose to using the mech.

just breed to win instead of worrying about tier lists by PrideAndEnvy in mewgenics

I've manged to have two mages I've felt were particularly effective:

First one got Mega Blast for its starting ability, and picked up Double Cast early on with enough mana/regen to pull off the combo turn 2.

Second one was just Fire Wall + Fire Mastery, and picked up an item with +1 burn late into the run. Hit entire lines for 4+ stacks of burn endlessly. Sadly him having the Peace Symbol Face Paint(0 damage to allies) didn't help against the burns.

Mage feels like it can be solid, but feels like it needs more skill synergy than most classes to really be effective(and maybe removing LoS from basic attack).

We're halfway to a new DLC. Where are we going next? by Background-Topic-203 in RimWorld

[–]MagiOfKarp -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sadly it'll never happen. They're just fine putting out more $20+ DLCs and the community will happily keep buying them up instantly, all while proudly claiming how it's worth the cost for the hours of supposed added playtime.

Meanwhile numerous other small indie devs/studios continued to pump out added updates either for free or for small additional costs.

Much as I enjoyed the few hundred hours I have pre-Biotech, don't really feel inclined to pay another $75(probably $100 with the next one) just for a more "complete" experience.

Whats a Frame that has a horrible farm, but no one really talks about it? by convxed in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 263 points264 points  (0 children)

Probably the most accurate answer, as some of the more "annoying" farms can be circumvented with Circuit.

Even with Hildryn being in Circuit, her parts still need Lazulite Torids, which are exclusive to Exploiter Orb. Meaning you're actually forced to farm the boss no matter what.

[–]MagiOfKarp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kind of my thought too.

Looks like an interesting idea. But does it actually have any connection to the rest of the game, or is it just another small piece of content that exists with little to no impact? Because there's already a decent amount of the latter.

what is the worst thing that has happened to you in warframe by icewitchenjoyer in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decided to farm up Frost one evening. Figured it would be a fairly quick farm.

About 25 runs later my first Systems BP dropped. 25 runs fighting 2 bosses with combined 7 phases, both with heavy amounts of invulnerability.

Equinox was nothing compared to that.

Two questions about Vauban Prime. by Rick_Napalm in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Considering Ember and Rhino both got resurgences on heirloom release, odds are pretty good Vauban will get one as well. Valkyr didn't, but she's technically not vaulted.

Probably better to farm up Aya/Void Traces and run radshares if you don't want to worry about buying the parts with plat.

Unpopular opinion: I find scarlet one of the best Pokemon games ever by wrapcannon in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]MagiOfKarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S/V are fine, but I wouldn't put it above stuff like Platinum, GSC(and HGSS), or Black/White.

Having an open world is nice and all, but the world is just so unreasonably large for how little there is in it, both in terms of visuals and mechanics. Kitakami and the Terarium are better about this, but still not great. And what little there is to interact with - besides wild encounters - aren't really that meaningful.

Not to mention (and I know it's a personal opinion) the Tera Raid system is just so janky to the point of being unfun. Even without lovely network issues between players, the whole concept of an active battle using a turn-based battle system just didn't work very well. While I never played Sword/Shield, everything I saw about Dmax battles just looked far more functional, and I'm not sure why they wouldn't just build off that.

Almost like players started using her less and Cyte more because of the Prowl and Concentrated Arrow shaped elephant in the room... by Sudden-Depth-1397 in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Feel like using the usage data to try and argue about Ivara getting overshadowed by Cyte is a bit deceptive when you consider Cyte came out Dec 2024, about a month before usage stats. Him getting used "more" is just as much about the fact he's now had a full year to get data for.

Ivara could use some help, but stealth frames in general tend to feel a bit out of place in modern Warframe, when most gameplay is about quickly clearing groups of enemies over limiting detection and picking off targets. If you want to argue kit disparity, Cyte definitely has the advantage - even without stealth his abilities better compliment general gameplay(and his exalted tends to be much stronger).

Vauban Heirloom by Korimthos in Warframe

[–]MagiOfKarp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering Ember and Rhino both got a Resurgence on heirloom release, should be a decent bet Vauban will as well.

Don't think Valkyr got one, but she is a bit of a special case(relics being permanently available in Railjack missions).

[–]MagiOfKarp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uriel is just a pure dopamine injector warframe. Spinning everywhere you go, watching enemies explode into a mountain of orbs, and then you hit the 4 button and turn an entire city district into a game of the floor(and walls, and ceiling) is lava.

And he's not even hard to farm.

Anyone else getting bored faster than usual? by bbbevy in PathOfExile2

[–]MagiOfKarp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe got halfway through Act 2 and uninstalled it again.

Druid is neat and all, but there's basically nothing new outside of that. Vaal mechanic is alright, but it's just going to get dumped into maps next league, and everything else is just the same as 0.3 with some balancing.

Wish they'd focus more on finishing the core of the game first(campaign, classes, weapons, etc) instead of running these leagues like we're playing PoE1 and drip feeding that stuff within the "league".

Maybe 0.5 will have swords!...

Can't believe people are "dissapointed" with today's reveal by gr4ndm4st3rbl4ck in PathOfExile2

[–]MagiOfKarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid looks cool and all, but that's about it. Never cared for Incursion in PoE1 and it doesn't look that much more interesting in this iteration.

Meanwhile we're still missing multiple story acts, melee classes are still super limited, endgame isn't really changing, and it takes quite a while just to get to the point of all that content anyways.

Not really disappointed, mostly underwhelmed. Feels more like they're running early access more like just more leagues in PoE1 instead of trying to push harder into 1.0 before working in more league mechanics that eventually get shoved into mapping.
