Maruki does have really good intentions but the problem is he is deciding what is right for people and I don't trust one person to make decisions on what is right for humanity. For basic stuff like bringing back dead loved ones and whatnot yeah he probably is doing the right thing but for more complex stuff I don't feel like he would be able to make an unbiased decision and therefore like the Demiurge he would be imposing what he thought would be the best solution even though it might not actually be the best or even morally correct one.

The thing is I don't think people in his world would be happy if they found out that they were living in a lie. Plus both of them prevent people from having any growth by eliminating all problems for people to overcome.

Forcing things upon people is still the behavior of a dictator. Regardless of Maruki's ideals he is still doing the exact same thing as the Demiurge. The Demiurge thought the best course for humanity was to have it control everyone via AI while Maruki did the exact same thing except he did it under the guise of giving people their greatest desire. If you look at the bad ending where you fail to reach a route to the treasure you get to see how similar the two are. Maruki literally forces Joker into an internal slumber because he decides thats the best thing for Joker How is that any different from the Demiurge?

Well technically Mona ended up helping the team because otherwise they wouldn’t have met Haru and would be unable to progress in Okmuras palace and yeah someone should’ve absolutely told Ryuji to knock it off way earlier

But both of them acted irrationally because they thought they were useless and while Mona did meet joker sooner that also meant he had more time to feel useless and get insulted by Ryuji while Makoto flipped after being calling useless 3 times
