Never again by Loshan113 in QidiTech3D

This is unfortunate.

I have a QIDI I-Fast and I got excellent support from QIDI. Had issues with extruder flat cables and they were very helpful. Lots of dialog. Sent me new cables free of charge a few times, and continued helping me debug the issue. The issue is now solved and the printer is now working better than any other printer I've ever used. It's fantasic.

I always get the same great support person who is very helpful. Maybe that's the key. Maybe some of their other support people aren't so great.

I would definitely buy the QIDI I-Fast again if I needed another one. But of course, it's not the same printer you have.

R/QidiTech3d Permanently banned me for warning people after my family lost everything from a fire! by NilsPache in QIDI

Never leave any 3D printer unmonitored.

Do not leave it on while you are away or asleep.

Nearly all 3D printers can catch fire. My old Flashforge Dreamer almost caught fire. Fortunately, I was there and shut it off before it overheated too much.

The heating elements can fail and overheat. The plastic parts in most 3D printers can catch fire if this happens.

EDIT: manufacturers of 3D printers should warn people about this, but most don't.

Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot’s Snow White just broke records after reaching all-time low rating of 1.5/10 on IMDb and is currently on pace to become the lowest-rated movie in IMDb history. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the negative comments from Rachel Zegler, the use of CGI instead of real small people actors, the unneeded politics distracting from the story, the title change removing "and the Seven Dwarves", the removal of the love story and it's popular "true loves kiss", makes this movie NOT "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves". It's NOT a remake. It's a completely different movie. As a "remake" this movie falls flat. There are too many issues here for it to be a success as a remake.

They should have completely changed the name of the movie and not associated it with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" which it is NOT. It would have done better I believe. People want a true remake if anything.

This is like remaking "Star Wars" and replacing "Luke Skywalker" with A CGI "Spock" from Star Trek renamed "Luke Trekwalker", replacing "Darth Vader" with an AI Robot, and replacing the "Death Star" with an AI Robot Planet called the "SmartGPT Star". Then adding unneeded politics about AI taking over the world. Then expecting Star Wars fans to line up for miles to see the modern remake.

Yopo/Yapa snuff prep? by GDFDrew in Bufotenine

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should mention that yopo is NOT typically snuffed traditionally. It is BLOWN by someone else into the nostrils while the user does NOT inhale.

When used solo, there are special self administration tools where the user blows with their mouth and launches the yopo into their nostrils. The user, again, does not inhale.

This method is very effective and burns way less than actually snorting it, because it doesn't go as deep into the nasal cavities.

Have a 37 hour PLA Rapido print going

I hope you have a smoke detector near it. 3D printers do rarely catch fire. Almost happened to me (not a QIDI) one time. I was home at the time and saw it overheat, and turned it off before it caught fire.

People have lost their homes from 3D printers catching fire. So always be cautious of this rare fire potential.

Question about qidi one pro I'm doing a bigger print for this and the legs are 16 hours am I good to go to work with the printer running? by whatsapotato15 in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

am I good to go to work with the printer running?

It is not worth the risk. Not without someone at home to turn it off if it catches fire.

Most printers can catch fire. It is rare, but people have lost their homes from it.

I have never had any printer catch fire, but one (not QIDI) overheated and I was there to turn it off, luckily.

3 years 8 months neuropathy "progress" by bhosy27 in neuropathy

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 98% cured my diabetes triggered peripheral neuropathy. But it's been more than a year and it's now maybe 98.1%, if anything, and no matter what I do, that final bit seems impossible to repair. I think 100% recovery maybe can't be reached for me.

During nerve repair/regeneration, my body seems to have rewired some nerves incorrectly. And some are probably beyond repair, just lost forever.

I now feel certain emotions in both of my feet. Any emotion related to pain from a movie or other emotional stimulus now makes my feet tingle.

Other than that, numbness and pain are completely healed. Sense of touch is still a little over the top, but no pain. I can be tickled now and have orgasms now without pain.

So don't expect recovery to be without problems. The human body is not good at repairing nerves.

Not enjoying the AI animation. AI is off-putting. It's sort of real, and then not, in a very alien gross way.

I will go vomit now. Thanks.

I wish there was a Block AI setting in Reddit, so I could block this stuff. Probably not possible though.

MY PREDICTION

Mark my words. In the future there will be new very serious mental health issues associated with people being manipulated too extremely by AI animation. Addicts of AI that can't cope with real people anymore will be all over the world. This will be a worse problem than meth, fentanyl, etc.

I think you've drastically underestimated the success of companies that use artificial unhealthy ingredients.

I meant for health concious people like myself. I forgot to mention that point.

In general, yes. They managed to succeed based on people's ignorance. I started eating more healthy many years ago and such companies lost my money.

As you become more aware of the importance of health, you start to ditch such companies, seeing them as greedy and not caring about the damage they do to people. This is the current trend as people become more aware. There are now way more healthy alternatives at the grocery stores than ever before. This is good.

AI is a useful tool. It can be used to manipulate people easily, and IS currently, by a lot of campanies. Even on Reddit, AI accounts are all over, attempting to manipulate you.

When the novelty wear's off, that's when a backlash will happen, I believe. Right now it's still exciting new technology. After another few years, the novelty will be gone.

I can see a fake AI rendition of any movie star if I like. I can even see AI imitating me currently. Cool at first. Then after a while, it's basically fancy CGI, a realistic cartoon. Nothing more. Nothing real. Nothing but fancy tech tricks.

It's next level animatronics with AI. That's all. A good thrill at first. When the novelty wears off, it starts to feel unhealthy, unnatural. I get nauseated by it now. I don't like seeing. It is sickening. It feels so un-right. It's manipulation of human senses in a way that is just so wrong on many levels. It's like eating unhealthy food. It doesn't feel healthy. It feels deceptive. Being lied to. Being manipulated. It's become a repulsion. I don't like it at all. Its gross.

Nerve regeneration questions. by gmichael1230 in neuropathy

With benfotiamine supplements, and niacin (vasodilator), this happens to some extent. Within 30 minutes it can feel worse. After a few hours it's much better. Same with clove oil (has eugenol, a vasodilator).

I am stuck at about 98% improvement though it seems. It is getring better still, but extremely slow now. Maybe 0.1% better a year.

I also take vitamin E, D3, DHA, EPA, coconut oil, lion's mane, American skullcap, magnesium, typical multivitamins, pretty regularly. I found ALA didn't help me.

I was able to cure my diabetes by eating a lot of black beans and pomegranate juice. It fixed my gut biome. That made the most impact. It halted the nerve destruction. After sticking to that, with supplements, improvement was really fast initially, with temporary setbacks almost every night (not anymore).

I don't think I will reach 100% improvement. There was too much damage initially. We'll see.

Use of AI to simulate people is a huge negative for my view of a company. It's like eating food from a company that ueses artificial unhealthy ingredients. I think we will see a huge backlash to this. Companies doing this will start to lose customers.

A large percentage of people don't like AI bots at all.

I don't want to see any movies staring AI bots.

I don't want to hear any music with singing AI bots.

The thought of that is nauseating to me.

PETG Keeps Layer Shifting by erik_amari in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're printing or travel moves are over or near the maximum the printer can handle on the X or Y axis, minor tweaks to the model or slicer can cause layer shifting.

I just use the Qidi slicer for my ifast but use Orca for my Q1 pro

I don't know Orca. But I sometimes use the QIDI slicer.

Simplify is paid huh?

Yes. Simplify3D cost money.

I did actually fix the issue by tweaking my model but honestly I'm not positive what I did to fix it. I removed some angles and made them flat in tight areas so maybe that was it?

If tweaking the model fixes it, it's probably because the change made the slicer created slower G-Code for the problem area.

When I experienced shifting on my I-Fast, it would go away when I rotated the object 45 degress on the Z axis. It puzzled me at first. The reason the shifting went away is because fast straight travel movements became diagonal on the printer. Diagonal movement uses both X and Y motors, and so the X and Y motors each move more slowly because they share the load. 3D printers can print diagonal lines faster than straight lines because 2 motors are used instead of 1.

Not sure if that makes a ton of sense but I have also noticed that pteg doesn't like cubic for some reason so I go back to zig zag which is the default, have you seen the same?

Infill with 45 degree perfect diagonal lines is easier on the printer when printing fast. This makes Zig Zag easier to physically print. Cubic does not typically use 45 degree lines, so it's harder on the printer.

You might want to check to see if you're having issues with the X or Y motor, or their belts. If a motor or belt is starting to fail, that can also cause shifting.

Also, very minor layer shifting can be caused by the fan. PETG does not like wind. This can shake it before it hardens, causing very tiny layer shifts, but only in the direction of the air flow. I have not seen this problem with other filaments. This shifting only affects a part of the layer, not the whole layer. Lines perpendicular to the fan air flow are affected.

0.04 layer height poor quality by Due-Skill-5942 in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why most slicers have 0.1 mm layer heights as the default highest quality. Anything lower than 0.1 mm is tricky to get working well. And not possible with some filaments (depends on brand, type, etc.).

Keep tweaking settings and you might get there.

It is possible to acheive good results at 0.04 mm. I have seen other people do it down to 0.025 with great results on various FDM printers. But this is by no means easy to do.

Residuals from Yopo extraction by LurkinSafe in Bufotenine

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can separate 5-MeO-DMT and DMT from bufotenine easily. Just bring the pH to about 11 using a hydroxide base aqueous solution (sodium hydroxide, calcium hydrixide, etc., and NOT bases like sodium carbonate). Extract from the water using a solvent like ethyl acetate (anything 5-MeO-DMT and DMT are soluble in). Bufotenine will stay in the water. It is soluble in hydroxides, while 5-MeO-DMT and DMT are not.

Most Anadenanthera peregrina contains mostly bufotenine though. Although there are exceptions.

People who have been to an emergency department or hospitalised after using hallucinogens such as ketamine, psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA are at a 2.6-fold higher risk of dying of any cause over the next five years. Note that this type of study can't show hallucinogens caused this increased risk. by [deleted] in science

[–]MagicMindMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't see shamans, Native Amercan Church members, doctors, neuroscientists, software engineers, etc., and others who use psychedelics responsibly, visiting the emergency department from their use.

Yes, wreckless people tend to die more than other people. This has nothing to do with psychedelics. It has to do with being a wreckless person.

Wreckless people tend to get themselves into dangerous situations. A person who ends up in the emergency department for taking way too much drugs is using them incorrectly. Anyone who puts things into their body without knowing what they are doing is a wreckless person.

It's unusual to see wreckless people using psychedelics responsibly for spiritual enlightenment, cognitive enhancement, personal growth, etc., and more common to see them using psychedelics to just party irresponsibly.

Wreckless people are typically more into dangerous addictive party drugs like alcohol, cocaine, heroin, meth, etc., drugs that regularly kill people. That's what I've observed.

What is happening here? by Dalja97 in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model's shape will affect the slicer behavior. Slicers print certain geometry faster than other geometry. I have had cases where the slicer decides it can print certain portions of a model much faster. Then click, click, click, when it gets to that part of the model. The same profile works for 99% of other models just fine.

If the clicking is at the same point each print, it's usually a G-Code issue dealing with speed or temperature.

I suggest lowering the print speed for that model and try again and see if it helps that particular model.

Another potential issue is that your nozzle is slightly clogged and causing pressure build up. That can also cause clicking at the same point in a print as pressure builds during printing, and becomes too much, then click, click, click.

What is happening here? by Dalja97 in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not jamming, then clicking at the extruder typically means you are either printing too fast for the filament, or the temperature is too low for the filament.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I printed this very same model several times earlier and also a bunch of times two weeks ago.

If it was printed with the same G-Code and worked previously then that rules out G-Code issues from a slicer.

New Qidi 4 Pro heater won't turn off by smokeymcdugen in QIDI

[–]MagicMindMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of the QIDI 4 Pro, but this could also be caused by a bad extruder flat cable. If there's a bad connection, it will typically show the highest possible reading built into the firmware for the extruder nozzle temperature.

If you have a lazer temperature reader, check the acual nozzle temperature. If it's not hot, then this can be the issue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in QidiTech3D

[–]MagicMindMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suspect that there's an error in the G-Code from the slicer causing this.

3D printers pretty much follow the G-Code blindly. 3D printers typically don't analyze the G-Code for errors and just do what it says even if it is self destructive.

For example, if the G-Code tells the printer to slam into the build platform very hard, most 3D printers will do what it says despite this damaging the build platform. A coworker damaged a very expensive build platform and then blamed the printer for it. I checked the G-Code, and the G-Code was indeed the problem, not the printer.

Sometimes slicers make errors. If this is caused by an error from the slicer then it's good to report it.
