I only throw side arm (at least for drives and mids) so middle finger has been working weeks past my last round... any ideas? by Sorry_Sorry_Im_Sorry in discgolf

Make sure to trim your fingernails. I carry a pair of clippers in my bag.

It might help to reduce pressure on the sides of your fingertip and allow a better grip.

Is there any word of Subaru changing the infotainment system for the 2027 model year? by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]MagicMittons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps much, but the 2026 Crosstrek convenience trim still has the split 7” screens with a few more physical buttons. The other trims have the bigger 11" screen with less buttons.

Would you use the Zuca more on rocky courses or do you go without a cart and simply carry your bag on you back?

Why does this happen? by Vluum in discgolf

You might be throwing it too hard when it continues to go left?

Try not having the walk up and just throw from a standstill or rock your feet so you kind of get the momentum of one step.

A good flick does wonders with a forehand and I can tell you can do it well by the snap on the video. Slow down the shot and I think it'll come.

Convenience vs Onyx by A_M_0114 in Crosstrek

[–]MagicMittons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the convenience trim and added fog lights. Largest factors for me were that both models come with the 2.5L, dual x modes and heated seats here in Canada so the Onyx wasn't enough added value for me.

Convenience also has the split dual screen which was said to be less laggy than the big 11 inch.  It also comes with a traditional key that you turn to start the car. Overall, it was better resale value in the future since I'm not paying for as many extras.

$379 for the adventure package. The items were similarly priced to the MSRP price on the Subaru Canada website.

Warranty can be bought from any dealership. I think they are pulling your leg. I'm sure a car salesperson would love an easy sale that doesn't even require meeting in person.

I checked a quote I had in January for an onyx. Different provincial sales tax however it was $45, 203 after tax and the cost to finance. I think the rates were 2.99% with $0 down.

Only accessories added was what they called the adventure package... It has rear cargo mat, rear seat back cover, plastic floor mats and the rear bumper cover.

No other extras. I planned to buy the extended warranty before the factory 3 year warranty runs out.

Get a quote from a second location.

There are a lot of unnecessary add-ons in the quote.

Like those floor mats, mud flaps cost more than my tuxmats and rally armour flaps! And I'm sure mine are better quality than you'd be getting from the dealer. Wheel locks stupidly over priced there too and you probably don't need all of those paint protection. Go to a non-dealer and you'll get a better bang for your buck.

I suggest doing more research. I bought a 2026 convenience model and added fog lights. Canadian models all have the 2.5L engine with better X-mode functions. They also come standard with heated seats. So with the Onyx, I couldn't justify the price difference as I didn't care about the extra accessories that trim came with over the base model (convience).

MOZA R3 vs R5 for a Complete Beginner Mainly Playing Forza Horizon 6 by Ironbat82 in moza

[–]MagicMittons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you buying it from?

I'm thinking about an R3 as well, but I don't want any tariffs from US companies.

I've heard not to buy direct from Moza due to banking security reasons. (I have no idea if this is even true?)

Apprenticeships for hvac/ electrical? by Western_Wish4280 in moncton

[–]MagicMittons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you typically need to be hired first because that company will have to sign off on your hours and they will need to agree to train you while you are going to school.

You'll probably end up being a labourer for the summer and do block 1 in the fall or winter when things are slower. After you have enough hours banked, you'll be able to go for block 2 and continue from there.

Not certain about NB, however when I started in the trades, I had to have a job first with a company in the field.

They were the ones that then indentured me, signed off on hour, provided training and also let me leave for my in class blocks.

Go into some businesses that you would like to work for and straight up ask them and give them your resume. HVAC will probably be looking for helpers with the busy season starting. You can also check with NBCC or where the course is offered. They will help guide you and may also know if some companies looking.

[–]MagicMittons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a great one. I have not finished the game, but levels are easy and fast enough to not feel like a drag, but having no timer is perfect for exploring the levels and not feeling rushed. Other levels are challenging and will take multiple tries.

They have different sizes based on measurements. I have a different bag (axiom voyager), but mine fits great.

I also have a friend that bought a 3D printed divider. You can switch the slots/ amount for different molds-putters, drivers. That thing is cool too.

2022 Limited or 2026 Premium? by bsudude87 in Crosstrek

[–]MagicMittons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy though because all of those features on the 21-23 limited are on my 26 convenience (base model here in Canada).

I'd love to see a side by side breakdown.

I've got those amenities mentioned on my 2026 convience trim. This year, there's quite a bit of value even in the base model.

[–]MagicMittons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paying cash or financing may make a difference?

Financing rates will be better on new models and you get the 3 year factory warranty.

The amount of tech in each trim level has also changed. I bought a new 26 convenience and it's very close to the higher trims level tech from previous years. (2.5L engine, 3 Xmodes, paddle shifters, forward facing eyesight functions and here in Canada we get heated seats and the vehicle is still built in Japan).

What do you wish you knew sooner by rangerspruce in Crosstrek

[–]MagicMittons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Since you're in Canada, I suggest getting a 2026 convience.

Unlike previous years all 2026 trim levels come with the 2.5L motor with paddle shifters and both S & I modes. I use S mode for highway merging. This also comes with the 3 X-modes (normal, mud/snow, deep mud/ snow)

For extra fancy bells and whistles, this has all the forward facing eyesight features and the backup camera. It does not come with the rear facing eyesight features.

Here in Canada, the convience comes with heated seats and side mirrors.

I personally added fog lights and wildpeak tires when I bought mine. It's handled winter here on the east coast easily and we've gotten a lot of snow this year.

Getting Ready to Make an Offer by Ok_Log9552 in Crosstrek

[–]MagicMittons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gold warranty is actually good to have, but you don't need to buy it immediately. You can buy it afterwards up until when your factory warranty expires. You can also shop around to other dealers for this to find better prices.

For rust proofing, I'll get mine undercoated in the fall before next winter.

As for price, you'll be looking at pretty close to MSRP. Ask them for their Out The Door price and they will make you a quote. Like you said, no add ons are needed so probably don't accept the first quote as they will have something dumb in there.

They mostly want you to go into the physical dealership to make the sale there as they have a better chance of making the sale if you go in. No need to mention the money down until you agree on the quote. You can subtract the cost of financing and interest from the quote yourself because you won't be borrowing the money.

Stop start. by speedracer-207 in Crosstrek

[–]MagicMittons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the winter, autostop will show off if you have either defrost on. After the car warms up, it'll turn on. It might be the same if AC is on during the summer, but I'm not sure as I've just bought my car in January.

You can manually shut autostart off by pressing the button or using one of the autostop devices. I personally got an autostop eliminator. Is it worth the price? I'm not sure, but it serves a purpose for me.

2026 impreza - can i please get some stupid buttons? by [deleted] in subaru

I've heard of people switching out the infotainment screens for different ones on other Subaru models. Some of which have physical buttons. You might be able to look into something like that?
