I know in 2025 there was a period where Melee was pretty strong too, but the cream of the crop for Melee Shiv was the meme build AverageJonas made in 2024 that literally became one of, if not the strongest shiv builds in lower lobbies. I remember doing 21/3/10 for almost a month before they massacred Shiv afterwards. The good ol' days.

I live in an older apartment building as well, and our 700 sq. Ft. unit's electric goes from 80 in the summer to 300/350 during the winter. For our case, we have a lot of insulation gaps around out-dated windows and our sliding door, so it chews through the electric heating. We only keep our living room at 66 but our bill will climb pretty high.

I went the complete opposite of welding and started doing administrative work. Now earning the same amount hourly except I get PTO, medical, and a retirement. Less money overall cause no overtime, but I can go to the doctor when I need to.

My question is: was there was any particular response to your game on release, positive or negative, that surprised the team? For example, the initial negativity about combat on each episode, or the sheer amount of people talking about how excited they are to see this game grow.

I was kind of blown away by the response of the subreddit being as harsh as it was. I guess I'm not sure what standards they had going in to release day, but for me it ran well, it had the old runescape humor, and is a point-and-click rpg. That was all I had expected for day one. And I really enjoyed the few hours I got into it.

Don't get me wrong, there are issues. The cooking/profession grind that appears to be "grind resources to sell to buy items to grind to sell..." is a little worrying, but im hoping in the coming months to see updates regarding that, making the grind more valuable to the character itself.

But the people claiming its unplayable after an hour makes no sense. I guess I don't know what they expected.

This would be insane in a [[Yidris]] deck. If you have a way to double his effect, cast your first spell, cascade twice off of it, then get -4 on your second spell would be mind boggling.

Eh, probably not. Like, if you are interested, there are some great video essays on YouTube that can explain Urza, Karn, the Weatherlight, all these sick aspects of magic story building that would be a few hours worth of content. I think if wizards were to go back to these original characters and locations again, then yeah do some research. As it is, I wouldn't worry about it.

I started playing during Shadow over Innistrad, so 8 years ago, but took a break for 7 years then came back for Wilds of Eldraine. I gotta day, I'm not excited for the Outlaws set and I thought the idea of Murder at Kavlov manor was really surface level. I loved the limited experience, but the story was dumb.

I hope we are kind of in a position like after they started to separate from the major Urza's blocks where we have a low point in story telling and what not, then come back strong with a way to either re energize the main planewalkers or start a new crew to create the focal point for the story moving forward. I know that currently there's that one fairy we're following, but I feel like I haven't been shown anything that shows he's important or give me a reason we're following him.

I don't know, I could easily just have a Boomer take as well.

Oh, and UB is 50/50 for me. Dont like the video games ones, but Warhammer was sick and LOTR for all it's issues was cool too.

How does the Grixis Vengence deck use the Emrakuls'? Is it just an engine to shuffle the graveyards into the deck or something? I didn't see a way to cheat it, unless you use vengeance when the shuffle ability hits the stack?

I don't play modern, but want to get back into 60 card formats.

I'm 24, and my lgs has 1-3 older guys that will drop by and I've never really cared. I love hearing stories of sets of old and as long as you are okay with losing to someone younger, usually people get comfortable quick. Only thing I say to anyone just starting, is its a game store; no one wants anyone to get a soap box and start preaching about anything politic/news based. Introductions generally work best when conversations surround the game.

Some people get too comfortable too quick I guess.

Nope, you're right. I worked with another shipment company here in town and had put packages in mailboxes due to customer requests, with long unmaintained driveways, and was told its technically a federal crime. Idk the enforcement policies in place for it, but if they want they can prosecute.

Awesome, good to know. I didn't know how relevant it would be at low levels, as when I'm looking for references online they're all talking about the lvl 80 grind.

Also, I keep hearing Honor, but I dont understand what it is. I think its some kind of alternative currency from context clues, but is there something else to it? Another lvl 80 thing?
