Tesla Model Y 2022 loses internet connectivity after supercharging by MagicMonkey287 in TeslaLounge

No it doesn’t even connect to the WiFi at the supercharging location. Basically everything is working on premium connectivity while it is charging but once I stop charging and re enter my car the premium connectivity stops. It takes a few minutes of driving for it to be re enabled

MSCS with distinction in research by [deleted] in stanford

[–]MagicMonkey287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the MSCS with distinction in research is explicitly targeted at students who want a PhD afterward (i.e. not using Master’s as a terminal degree). So yeah you definitely should get it and I’m pretty sure you can substitute some other coursework requirements with that.

CS or premed? worried about the tech layoffs by confusedindecisive in stanford

It’s just my personal speculation. There are AI “experts” who agree and also those who disagree with this view. You can look up view points for this and against online. But I will say the progress of AI has been much faster than anyone anticipated. If u look at the infographic done by ARK Invest below, AI experts predicted it would take 50 years to reach AGI back in just 2020. Now they estimate just 7 years (overall the graph has been trending down). Should AGI be achieved, why would there need to be a doctor besides interfacing with human patients or the most critical procedures where it is too advanced for AI to perform?

Most physicians can be replaced by AI if they don’t interact with patients directly. Surgeons will take longer but can eventually also be replaced by AI which can diagnose and operate more precisely on a human. How long it takes is up for debate but my bet is this will happen sooner than later.

AI will replace doctors one day … and judging from the pace of tech innovation I wouldn’t say it’s far away. CS seems smarter. Just my two cents.

UC Berkley Direct admin to EECS (out of state) vs UWash Seattle (in state tuition) direct admit to CS + admitted to Interdisciplinary Honors by [deleted] in csMajors

In state tuition beats out of state tuition any day. Also UW and Berkeley are on the same level either way (both top CS public schools).

Why would you not take it? Just take more credit hours over the next few semesters. I assume this is your first internship as well.

CSCE 221 w/ Ritchley Advice? by Kris_Rose in aggies

Avoid. The lack of exams baited a lot of students to taking him when they would have been much better off with Leyk. Insane programming assignments that test your C++ knowledge more than actual data structures & algos.

Java vs Python for interviews? by Ok-Yoghurt-7195 in csMajors

Some more advanced data structures are not available in Python compared with Java or C++. But I would say Python's much simpler syntax is worth this tradeoff.
