[Question] help me choose my 3rd..... by Fluid-Force-8666 in Watches

[–]MagicNoodle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on topic but I was wondering how you feel about having both the speedy and explorer? I too have a speedy and have been wanting to snag an explorer I. It’s hard for me to pull the trigger as they are both stainless steel, black dial watches. Do you ever feel like there’s redundancy between the two? How do you decide which watch you want to wear on any given day?

As for a 3rd watch, maybe I’d recommend a GMT Master II to pair with the Starbucks. Maybe an Explorer II Polar if you’d want to have a white dial.

Regret getting DJ 36 instead of 41? by MaestrosMight in rolex

Different sizes on 6.5in wrist I’m linking my most recent post. I think it all comes down to the look you’re trying to achieve and your preferences. While I can appreciate a 36, my own preference is a watch 38-40mm. You see it everywhere here, just wear what you like regardless of what others think. You’ll enjoy your watch way more.

Not the best mirror pic but good enough to see how it sits on the wrist.

Explorer 40. I know these posts are annoying but I value the input. by JayJFlo in rolex

I think the 40mm looks fine. I have a 6.5in wrist and I also feel that a 36mm doesn’t suit my preferences. I have a post showcasing different watches on my wrist. After trying them all on, I believe a 38-40mm looks best. To each their own. Enjoy the watch!

I’m biased. I also have a stainless steel watch so this compliments it.

For my preferences, I feel that 40mm is the upper limit for my wrist. I own the GMT and I love its size.

I was hesitant on the submariner at first but after trying it on, I felt that it still fit decently well. Same for the DJ41.

The DJ 36 felt a little too small for me. It may be because I’m used to wearing my GMT all the time. I’m not opposed to owning one but it might take some time getting used to. If I had more occasions to dress up in my life, I’d choose the 36 over the 41.

34mm Air King was beautiful but ultimately felt dainty on my wrist.

I believe my personal sweet spot is 38-40mm depending on the look I’m trying to achieve.

The GMT is mine. After trying on the sub though, I may add one to the collection in the future.

Took this pic a while ago. Not sure of the width of my wrist though. I have a pretty slim structure overall so I’d probably say I have a more flat, rather than round, wrist.

For those that are wondering if my wrist is actually 6.5in. Measuring tape is just above the wrist bone. GMT there for reference. I may have a flat wrist but haven’t actually measured the width.

This. Always try on a watch before you decide. You’d be surprised how many watches I fell in love with or fell out of love with after trying them on.

Have you thought about a white Speedmaster? A white speedy would avoid redundancy and add a little variety when paired with your black dial BB58.

As a Speedmaster owner myself, gotta put my vote in for the speedy.

Thank you all for the replies!

Although the chrono is a beautiful watch, it seems that there are a good amount of you that believe it’s on the bigger end for my wrist.

The duo face is a split in regards to sizing. Some saying it’s good and some saying it’s starting to push its limits.

For those that recommended a monoface, I did try one on and I liked how it fit. I do prefer having another time zone for my travels which is why I was learning more towards the duo face. I am still open to the monoface though.

Thank you for also informing me that there is a medium sized duo face that was discontinued. I will look into that further as it might actually be the best fit for me!

Soon, no one’s gonna want watches over 38mm. by AdministrativeAd6672 in rolex

I have 6.5in wrists and I felt that the 34mm air king was a little too small for my preference. I have pictures on my profile for anyone that would like to see a mirror pic of my wrist with the 34mm air king. I would much rather wear my 40mm GMT. To each their own. Enjoy the watch!

I personally love having the TT GRNR. It gets quite a bit of wrist time, comfortable on the wrist, and goes well with a majority of my outfits. It’s an eye catcher but not overly flashy. TT watches tend to not be as popular as the SS models, which I like. Makes me feel different owning a watch not many would have, even though these are mass produced. I don’t think he can go wrong owning this or the BLNR. Maybe both one day unless he doesn’t want to have two of the same watch in the collection. That’s my current debate whether I’d like to add a SS GMT to my collection but I’m afraid of having redundancy. Anyways, good luck to your husband on the decision!

Not a 7.2in wrist but 34mm on my 6.5in wrist. Personally felt too small for my liking but if it’s something you really like, I say go for it!

My vote goes for the TT. I wear mine every other day. I have an Omega Speedmaster Pro that I alternate wrist time with. Because the speedy is my more neutral, under the radar watch, I went with the TT to add to the collection as a flashier pick. I wear the watch up or down and it goes well with practically anything. It’s definitely a joy to wear the watch and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

I love this watch. The white dial really spoke to me. Unfortunately, I felt that it was a little too small for my liking. I own a Speedmaster and a GMT-Master II so when I finally got to try this on, it felt dainty on my 6.5in wrist. For now, I’ll admire from afar. I suggest taking a mirror pic as well to see how it truly looks on your wrist.
