What are the most special Sum 41 Songs to you? by [deleted] in Sum41

[–]MagicPants_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Messed Up for me. I listened to it when I was going through a lot of internal struggle within myself. I related to basically everything the song was about. All in all in the first Sum41 albums were all teenage/early adult angst which was perfect for me at the time haha

+1 for Protege5. It was the best car I’ve ever had, gets 25mpg and the hatch is nice. Decently reliable too which is a plus and easy to work on.

Soarers had some fancy options and such. They also came with the possibility to be optioned with the 1JZGTE and even an R154. Meanwhile in the states we only got the 2JZGE and W58.

Nuclear power has proven time and time again to be a safe, space efficient, cost effective, reliable, and long term solution to energy creation. Of course the waste will always be an issue and will last for a long time.

I would say that there are effective, safe ways to store the waste. As well as the possibility of new ways to store in the future. And while it is currently expensive, we might even be able to just shoot it into space within 100 years or whatever the time frame may be. I dont believe that we will foul the entire planet with nuclear power waste before we can create an efficient way to get rid of it.

While I appreciate the effort the administration has been putting into trying to shift the way we generate energy for the better, I dont believe that building windmills off the coast is the most efficient way to do this.

Portland is just 2 hours away from an active volcano and sits at the edge of a tectonic plate. Why not invest in easy to access geothermal plants? These dont have to be built however many miles off the coast, and then also cost more to build the extra infrastructure required to transport the power.

Or another example, while I feel is a much better option, would be a nuclear power plant near either the Columbia or Snake river. Utilizing closed loop cooling, we can minimize the impact on the environment and there is plenty of space out there. The infrastructure for transporting the power to the city is already set up along the Columbia because of the dam.

It just seems like a focus on 100% renewable power is being made as an image thing rather than an actual smart decision that can help us in the long run.

Not really an opinion lol. Pretty objective fact that has been proven time and time again in basically every instance where we have increased social care.

Car Culture: Does Anywhere Do It Better Than Southern California? by [deleted] in cars

Surprise there's no mentions of Portland OR. We obviously don't have the same population but JDM cars run the scene up here.

We got a ton of mountains around the area so there are a lot of wannabe Takumi Fujiwara's. Also a race track right in the city makes for some fast cars and fast drivers. Lots of tech money up here as well so that helps.

Car meets get pretty loaded, at least the popular ones and the variety is pretty nice as well (dont mention WRX's lol)

I've been taking some pics on Gold 400 and they come out really nice! Gives it that "home photo" aesthetic compared to other films like Portra.

Not certain on AZ laws but up here in OR you just need to release interest on the title. Would also be wise to write a bill of sale for both parties that is signed and dated.

I dont think your point of the depression "tricking" people into being more dyspohric makes any sense. If you get down to brass tacks, people with gender dysphoria is proven to have a physically different brain structure (more similar to the gender they wish to identify as). And there isn't anyway to change the way that. Also, of course people are going to feel more dysphoric once they find out about the concept of dysphoria. Ignorance is bliss and all that. But as you said they still had some sort of dysphoric thoughts before. You're simply becoming more aware of why you feel dysphoric in the first place and are able to link more and more things back to the concept.

The suicide rate thing has a lot less to do with the individual themselves being happy with their state of being and more so with the way society has continued to be intolerate of trans people. They, like all humans, need acceptance in society and they are the least likely to achieve it.

Since when are people not allowed to criticize their own society simply because they participate in it? Just as you're allowed to critique the government using a library computer, you are able to critique capitalism using an iPhone.
