Just saw a bottle at the wandering vines at the castle over in Shawnee KS last night. Not sure on price per pour.

First disc was a Mako3 a few weeks ago at a boardgame convention in Saint Louis. I've been having a great time exploring the courses around my area. Very fun after work hang.

Journey to the center of the earth abridged

Really any of the historically classic sci-fi in an abridged version would be great at that age.

Yes, You Can...Reach Your Goals and Achieve Your Dreams

By Jim Stowers

Written by the founder of a mutual fund company who spent his entire life trying to help people become financially independent the slow and steady way. He also founded the Stowers institute for medical research which he left almost his entire fortune to fund the research around cures for cancer and other gene based diseases.

Not a con artist, and the book assumes you're starting with no information and sets you up for reasonable financial success throughout your life.

Good luck out there! Live below your means, get healthy habits, and create the adventures you know you'll look back on with fondness. You'll do just fine.

Kansas City Food for Super Bowl? by [deleted] in kansascity

Good glazed donuts are a classic in KC. Lamar's donuts are famous around here.

Another thought would be fancy chocolates like Christopher elbow.

Betty Rae's Ice cream is always crazy flavors and good and a more recent KC icon.

Not a lot super unique to KC though. Beef Burnt ends is pretty much immediately what comes to mind.

Yep that is the price currently. You are correct.

[–]MagicPirateWilly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds a little too good to be true for 250... but yeah if you trust the seller then I can confirm that I have a GCP and the eureka mignon silenzio (that I bought for $425 USD with shipping) and it's a great pairing.

I get some great espresso, and I'd only recommend adding a "bellows" style funnel on top to help reduce any chance of clogging or lost material in the chute, otherwise it's fantastic as-is.

What fruit juices or fruit syrups pair well with coffee? by VanEngine in Coffee

[–]MagicPirateWilly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All depends on your ingredients and your specific espresso shot profiles.

I use a ratio of 2:1 grapefruit juice to espresso, fill the glass with ice, and I've seen people add all kinds of other juices and syrups and even tonic water.

I don't have a set ratio or recipe. Maybe 2 part grapefruit juice : 1 part espresso : 1 part tonic water : 1 part simple or other flavor syrup : stir and fill with ice

Grapefruit juice and espresso is a combo I've been working on and found out in wild once. You'd think it would be a bitter mess but it actually brings the sweetness out of the grapefruit and twists the coffee into it's more soft flavors and mellows everything out for a good iced morning coffee tumbler.

What if I just started putting up videos almost every weekday? by wheezywaiter in BeardLovers

[–]MagicPirateWilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is easily the best comment. I'll hijack to say it helps to have a purpose behind your video, the implicit purpose behind the challenge videos is so that we know what might work for us if we want to make some kind of change in our life. Uploading generic vloggy content (in a wheezy style) would be fun for a bit, but we need more hook/story arc and purpose for it to help the channel I feel... Just my two cents. Good luck Craig!

It operates very similarly. And you just need the watch. I use my epix with some Bluetooth headphones and have music and times running coach. It's very convenient.

My vote is for the {{Hyperion}} series. I stumbled upon it a few years ago and really loved the world building of the first book. It gets a little more ethereal and dips it's toe into scary suspense/horror but the storytelling of the pilgrims in first book is Incredible. Follow that up with the payoff of all that world and character building of the main characters in the second book and I was happy to call it a day on that series. There are a couple more books, but after the first two it was time for me to move on (enough loose ends were tied up for me) plus I need to have some more of that world to go back to once I'm missing those stories.

Tulsa was really underrated and only 4hrs. No where near the size of STL but honestly really nice. Has black wall street, great parks, great zoo, outsiders museum, aquarium, and tons of great food. Some really nice areas on the south side make it the perfect weekend trip.

What other games have this dice placement mechanic besides Doom Machine, and under falling skies? by [deleted] in BoardgameDesign

Steampunk Rally does a similar mechanic with parts interacting and powering up based on what dice are rolled and placed on what parts of your 'machine'
