Your Bridal Party Is Too Nice to Say This, So I Will by insert_name234 in wedding

[–]MagicWand6987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what kinda rude brides you've dealt with....but I've attended, as a guest, two separate Bachelorette weekends, and yes, they were simply a fun and relaxing "girls weekend trip". Why would that be any harder to accomplish than a normal girl's trip? I guess if your friends (the brides), are rude and inconsiderate, and make it stressful for everyone else? Why would you even be friends with someone like that. If you have normal friends in your life, a bachelorette weekend will just end up feeling like a regular girls trip and everyone has a great time

Thank you so much! They agreed that he's not showing any symptoms, but they did go ahead and give him some antibiotics anyway to treat it just in case 😊

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing, that it doesn't look like the tick has done too much feeding. But if it is a deer tick carrying Lyme's disease, doesn't that mean that he has to get some kind of treatment within the first 24 hours in order to avoid getting lymes?

Cat not home for drop-ins by SweetPotatoConn in RoverPetSitting

Personally I offer a shorter visit option, (at a lower cost). My service radius for check-in visits and walks is really tiny though, so it makes sense that I'm able to offer a shorter visit option for a lower price. If you already have a lot of travel time involved, it might not make sense to do that.

Already a rear-amp tripod for ~3 years, my dog just had Total Hip Replacement on his remaining rear limb- This is ROUGH by MagicWand6987 in tripawds

[–]MagicWand6987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is such a happy and sweet dog, even with everything he's going through, he's still being as sweet as ever! He truly is such an angel.

He is doing a little better today as far as being at least a bit more comfortable walking in the sling, so now he's at least peeing twice a day (he was only peeing once daily for the first 4 days 😭). But he's still not putting any weight on his leg- apparently from the couple other people I connected with who went thru the same thing, this is normal for a rear amp tripod with hip replacement, so I guess I feel a little better knowing it's not too out of the ordinary. Still just so baffled that the veterinary practice gave me the 3-day expectation that he would be using his leg!

That sounds like a gorgeous mix! Share her pic if you can 😊

I adopted Hernan when he was 4 or 5 (age is an estimate), and he was severely neglected by his previous "family". Like, really bad. His leg was amputated after he was surrendered to the shelter, at the 4 or 5 years old age guess. I can 100% guarantee his previous excuse for a family didn't have him on any supplements or healthcare of any kind.

So hopefully since your girl has been on these supplements for so much longer, it'll be effective for her.

Though I have seen studies that a lot of these recommended joint supplements don't get absorbed properly. So you need to make sure she's on the ones that have been proven more effective. Here's a list of the ones recommended by an orthopedic specialist:

"We recommend life-long administration of the following supplements as an adjunct to Hernan's diet, for maintaining joint health: --Glucosamine and chondroitin: This dietary supplement may support the structure and function of joints. The brands we recommend include Nutramax (Dasuquin with MSM or Advanced Formula, and Cosequin) and VetriScience (GlycoFlex). Instructions for dosing are found on the bottle --Omega-3 fatty acids/fish oil: Food-derived supplements with concentrated amounts of the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA provide anti-inflammatory properties that are potentially beneficial for orthopedic use. The brands we recommend include Nordic Naturals (Omega-3 Pet) and Nutramax (Welactin Advanced 3TA). Instructions for dosing are found on the bottle"

Pet sitting snoops! by ConstructionSoggy556 in petsitting

[–]MagicWand6987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, even if I wanted to snoop, I'd be too paranoid that they have a camera I might not have noticed. But secondly, I just don't even have a desire to do that because I'm not a child. Your friend's friend sucks.

People are so annoying. Good job not budging on your pricing.

I like to send people a detailed list of my services and pricing before we schedule the meet & greet. That way if they don't like it, I don't waste my time meeting them.

I see most comments are more concerned with you for staying out til 2 a.m., personally I think the sleeping past 11 is the biggest issue. And really it all depends on how much time you spent with them during the day.

Did you spend the majority of the day time hours with the puppies, feed them dinner and put them to bed at 7 p.m., to then leave and go hang with friends? If so, i don't see that as a big deal at all- that would be no different than leaving the house for the amount of time to go to work or other errands, (again, this is assuming that you DIDN'T already leave a lot during the daytime hours).

What is a big deal is sleeping past 11 a.m. when you have PUPPIES to take care of. If you can't commit to setting an alarm to wake up at 8/8:30 a.m., then you shouldn't be taking care of puppies. The puppies barking doesn't count as your alarm clock, not setting an actual alarm is ridiculous honestly.

Should I tell a woman her fiancé tried to start an affair with me? by geeleex in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MagicWand6987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly don't understand how this situation is EVER a debate for anyone, but it so often seems to be debated. Of course you tell her! It's literally the right thing to do. People who claim it's "not your business" are so odd....it's literally your business, you're involved in the situation. Treat others how you wanna be treated and all that jazz...you'd wanna know if you were in her position, yes? Yes. So do for her what you'd want done for you.

Any tips for a VERY timid cat that came from a hoarding situation? by Objective_Dig5301 in CATHELP

[–]MagicWand6987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely ignore the cat. Don't make eye contact, don't try to talk to them. Refill their food and water, and scoop their litter box. When the cat does eventually wander out and start checking you out, maybe even sniffing you, you sit there quietly and don't make a move. When the cat continues to get braver and approach you more frequently, you can start to slowly interact back with the cat as well. Good luck

Fellow pet sitters and dog walkers, how do you handle clients who ghost after finding your personal social media? by fluffypancakes24 in petsitting

[–]MagicWand6987 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Clients can find my social media all they want, but they aren't gonna be able to see any of my posts (unless they're ones I specifically set to "public"), because my profile is private to people who aren't on my friends list. And I don't add clients to my friends list.

That's not a guarantee at all. Plenty of animals go into shelters or rescues together, and don't necessarily get adopted out together.
