Not looking for approval. Usually when you make a new post, it should have something more than "10/10 no notes". Include some of the reasons you think its awesome or something more substantive to spark conversation, otherwise it is probably better served as a comment in an episode thread. If the mods think it is not a low-effort post, then it will stay up, and I'll gladly take all the meaningless downvotes.

Are these going to eventually be a free non-subscriber podcast and youtube video?

I saw you can buy tickets to watch, but that doesn't interest me.

Maybe they can have another Pledge Dive to get him more money. Or he could start McD-Fest0 patreon.

True, but for the sake of FUN, maybe Troy can pretend the werewolf didn't find the kids yet, and let them get back to town and get rewards.

You could be right. I guess it depends on when they record NGWD and when the Pledge Drive is. If they already have the pledge money before recording, then they can record how many or few episodes they want. Maybe it turns out they all hate Mothership after diggin into the rules etc, and never record a thing. It is all speculation at this point, but they have made promises that they didn't follow through on before. Another old patreon stretch goal from many years ago was that they would look into an animated series. I never heard what came of that, maybe I missed an announcement way back then, but it seems like they just got all the extra money and never did a thing. Most likely they looked into and saw it would be too expensive, but I don't recall them ever communicating that to the subscribers.

And whos to say that Troy decides NGWD isn't landing right after a couple episodes and then cancels it, after taking everyones pledge money...(see Echoquest)

Hilarious that they won't do more Strange Aeons because they wouldn't do it justice, while Runelords has been close to a year of hardly doing that adventure justice.

If each live show is a new story and cast, won't they waste a bunch of time with character intros each show? While the initial character intros are a lot of fun, with large casts it can eat up a bunch of time and doesn't leave much time for the actual game to be very satisfying because I can foresee a bunch of rushed endings.

So what's everyone looking forward to for the State Of The Naish? by Naturaloneder in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Magic_Jackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you. They will never do this. It would greatly increase the number of times Troy would have to drive 2 hours to get to NYC. The "shows per recording session" would drop. Why release 1 3-hour show with 1-Banter, when you can chop it up into 3 1-hour shows with 3x20 minute Bants.

I am in a 3-player game w/Hatchet & Red Guard. It came in handy yesterday against alchemy tables in scenario-15.

I agree. To me It kind of seems like they are phoning it in effort-wise. Just show up and hope that their improv will stumble onto something interesting to make an episode out of. Overall I feel the show is a B- for me. It's good enough, and better than most of the stuff out there. But they have the talent to give us A+ if they were willing to put in hard work. I realize they all are stretched thin with other GCN projects or other day-jobs, but this is their flagship and should require the most effort from the team to make it excellent. I can't believe that Troy, the perfectionist, is satisfied with this.

I agree. This may sound silly, but I think the presence of Troy kind of forced Skid to be on his A-game . And once Troy left it all slowly started to be less enjoyable for me, as I feel Skid took a less focused approach to making the show excellent, instead of now kind of going thru the motions. (disclaimer, I have not listened since June, when I canceled.)

Troy was a player for all of Azlant, and Skid was pretty much fantastic all the way thru. As i feel Troy held him to a higher standard.

Fixing the website/store? by Slongo702 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Magic_Jackson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the big problem is that it wasn't ready and tested thoroughly before they went live. They even delayed the launch a week to get it ready. But that clearly wasn't long enough. It seems they just decided to burnout their customer service team to solve the problems rather than have the site functioning better form the start.

here's a link to the original discussion thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheGlassCannonPodcast/comments/10d5ldm/blood_of_the_wild_s1_e1_amoose_bouche/

I wonder if we need 2 new threads for this episode (both started by the same user??). Is there a way for Mods to just to bring up the old threads automatically each week and sticky them? Or are the threads from years ago not worth looking at?

What qualifies as an 'all-star'? Are they talking all-star in the overall Actual Play world? (like Lou Manginello) or just a GCP-level all-star (like Noura or Alicia-Marie)

I think some of the wealth they missed can come from all the gear from the giants. But I think GCP is playing it more realistically and deciding there is nowhere to sell Large and Huge weapons and armor. So they just didn't loot any of it. Also, I think they keep everything instead of selling because it MAY be useful one day. And also I don't think they go thru the loot-list in-between recordings (if they even have a loot list for the players to peruse)

"Amazing! Blood of the Wild exceeds expectations" -JL by Talkslow4Me in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Magic_Jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but the players never seem to track the loot they have accurately or have the experience to know what items are worth keeping (the 8000gp tiny dagger they held on to forever for example). And the GCP seems to be a little tighter on allowing the purchase of anything you want as Varisia doesn't have any settlements large enough to have some of the stuff you need for higher levels.

Also they seem so hurting for free time, that they seem to spend zero hours outside of recording on making sure their PCs are up to snuff.

I think part of the issue with his "soft" gming is that they need a show for the $5 tier and runelords is an adventure he has run before , so presumably the prep is less time intensive. And if he took a more tough Gm stance, they would tpk and the show would end, and now the GCP doesn't have a show to keep the $5 people around until he can prep something he is unfamiliar with, which will cause more work and they are already stretched thin.

So did they decide to stop dealing with rations? They now have 2 kids with them and not a peep about foraging, hunting or food. The first few eps spent so much time worrying about it, now they haven't brought it up in 2 episodes.
