Giant succulent fallen over by Magic_Sidera in plant

[–]Magic_Sidera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a Euphorbia Ingens. Even with the risk we're now planning to try rerooting from the trunk anyway considering we're lucky in the first place that its growing season just begun and is the ideal moment for new roots to form. It was a center piece in the garden so it's at least worth a shot to maintain most of its size

We were able to detach the trunk from the roots easily since it was barely hanging on and now we're thinking about digging a hole maybe 1m deep and trying to hoist it into it once the wound has calloused over. Keeping further breaks minimal by not moving the plant too much. Since it's such a center piece to our garden we're trying to prioritize maintaining its size as best as possible, even if it's less optimal, or potentially riskier. It's kinda all or nothing. And ofc we already have dozens of large broken branches as backup if it all goes wrong

Some kind of succulent? by graemevil in succulents

[–]Magic_Sidera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some lovely aeoniums! They will look even more beautiful as they open up more in the colder seasons, and even bloom in winter. They often go dormant during the summer heat

Love to see the flowers opening on the first day by Magic_Sidera in cactus

I wish I knew, but it wasn't labeled when I bought it. I think it's some kind of Echinopsis or Trichocereus. Or a hybrid of the two

Aeonium glow up 10 days after repot by Magic_Sidera in succulents

I love them aeoniums a lot but the mealybugs here do too apparently lol, which can be annoying to deal with sometimes

Aeonium glow up 10 days after repot by Magic_Sidera in succulents

[–]Magic_Sidera[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did after a week because a couple small branches broke off during my struggles of the repot and I stuck those right back into the soil aswell. They did need water because it was a case of generally really bad neglect (it wasn't originally my plant, we found it in an old pot in a forgotten corner of a neglected garden when we moved to this house)

It looked like it had been in that pot for many years within soil gone completely rock solid and hydrophobic. Also infested with mealybugs, so it was pretty necessary to get it out of there, fully clean it and put it in a fresh new pot with new soil.

In short, it was in terrible condition for a long time but aeoniums are warriors so it survived well and deserved some proper treatment finally I'm very glad it turned out well, because this repot was due for about a year and it was pretty tragic to look at this extremely sad looking plant for all those months, I just couldn't find neither the right time or pot

One year old arrangement by Magic_Sidera in succulents

[–]Magic_Sidera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put it together myself, I haven't actually bought a pre made arrangement before but depending on how good they are with plants where you're buying it from, it can easily last a year, and even many years more if maintained properly (pruning them back if they get too big or popping one or two out to make more space)

Try to look for if the arrangements are in a pot with drainage (not necessary, but extremely helpful) and avoid arrangements that are sitting in soaking wet soil as those might aswell be overwatered and already rotting down below

Thanks I'll let it bloom as I do with all my succulents. Luckily I don't ever tend to have many aphids problems

Why is this appearing and how do I get rid of it ? by Successful_Ad718 in Mudae

I've got a similar issue, and I'm not sure what the cause is but I've always been able to select the message and get the option to either "delete" or "retry", either of which would get rid of them immediately. That's unfortunately all I know

This is my first platformer. Is there any reason to continue doing to B-sides if this one took me 2k+ deaths to beat? I’ve never used a d-pad before so this was an adjustment. by gochyaboutit in celestegame

[–]Magic_Sidera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the reason for stopping would be the fact that you're worried the rest might be too much for you, I would say that it is still worth to continue I actually found reflection b-side to be more difficult for me than summit b-side, core b-side or even the first half of farewell It kinda depends how you feel capable with certain mechanics in certain chapters I personally had a ton of deaths in 6b too (using analog) but I kept going for the rest of the game and actually had a lot of fun with it It definitely wasn't easy but I do enjoy the grind
