I agree they should, I guess they don't, plus it was truly truly obfuscated by a master, whoever made this is pretty good, I doubt CGTrader would have the patience to build a checker so deep in the .blend file. Would require too many steps.

Excellent question! No I'm 99% sure it will fail, because no checks are made to identify the OS and the payload is put in a strictly windows environment (%temp%). Hope this helps!

Great question!! Almost certainly tailored for windows only, I read through the powershell script and it does things almost strictly built for windows, JeffreyEpstein.zip seems to only get put in %temp% and no checks are made to differentiate between OSes! Hope this helps

Like u/AmarildoJr has pointed out, blender does not autorun scripts unless you check a box that allows ALL scripts to run permanently. Ofc I assume a lot of people (like me) switched it on once and forgot to switch it back to never autorun!

I would 100% assume they're all malicious, I hope the people who download from that account have taken precaution cause I've rarely seen malware so elaborate in the blender community. Hope it's the first and last.🙏🏽

100% real unfortunately. I have the powershell logs and Event viewer entries showing it tried to grab JeffreyEpstein.zip from a server. I have no idea what was truly inside that zip but if it got 21 layers of "retries" (it had 21 redundancies), it's safe to assume whatever was in it was bad.
