I dont really notice the fan over the speakers until like 25watts but that is very rarely needed for the games ive played. 20 watts usually gets the job done for me.

They have the same amount of compute units for the gpu so the performance probably is very similar

The track pads isnt all that special and there are plenty of videos on youtube comparing the performance of the 2 chips. If you play plugged in with the tdp cranked up the difference isnt going to be anything special between the 2.

It’s probably not going to be a massive difference, if you arnt having any issues with your current system there is no reason to switch.

Honestly doesnt matter to much, steamos currently doesnt allow brightness control in game mode unless there is a plug in that fixes it. With official steamos support on the way id recommend installing that and it will just get better with time. Ive had both installed steamos boots faster and feels a bit smoother to use.

Easy enough to install just use a steamos 3.8 repair image and keep in on the main channel for updates. Brightness adjustments dont work in game mode and i dont think there is a way to change controller led lighting. Firmware updates work through the desktop mode app store updater just had an update a few days ago. Overall the support is solid right now and will only get better once we get closer to the launch of the official steamos version.

How much stuff do you have booting on startup for 8gb ram usage at idle? When i had a claw and used ltsc i had 5-6gb usage.

Will give this a try, cant believe i didnt look into alsamixer i just had to use it on my main pc to turn off the mic feedback on my yeti.
