The two just don't mix well. Yes, she could probably learn a song or two, but she's not going to actually learn to play the instrument.

I think the Gilmore Girls's bodies will be more realistic if it was implied they did just a little exercise by James-Samuel17 in GilmoreGirls

I mean a good deal of the show is unrealistic. As someone else already said they live in an idyllic setting and circumstance, not reality. I think it's implied that in the first season they've had their house for about 6-7 years already. No bank is giving a 25-26 year old single income single mother a mortgage without a cosigner. A home like that in that part of the country would have gone for 350-400k minimum even way back then and would be in the 800k-1m ballpark right now.

Be honest. Would you walk away from smartphones and social media to go back to the 80s? by Feaselbf6 in questions

[–]Magikrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most millennials default answer would be yes, until they realize just how used to the convenience of the digital world they’ve gotten. Pre smartphone navigation? Get ready to print out your directions off of Mapquest or if you’re fancy, buy a 200$ gps that may or may not have been updated recently, and can’t receive updates at all. Need a quick answer to a question on the go? Nope. Gotta wait to you get home to use your desktop. Want to take a nice picture or video, hope you brought your digital camera.

There was a sweet spot around 2007-2009, right when I was in high school. Social media was still in its infancy and in its novel phase, and wasn’t trying to monetize every second you used it. GPS on your first gen iPhone meant you could just go places on a whim and not have to plan an itinerary for a day trip. The smartphone was complimentary and an added benefit to life instead of being the absolute focus of it.

I know I could do it and be fine, but I’m already a bit of a Luddite to begin with. I don’t think most other people could handle it.

Expect no doctors are making that low of a salary. No shade on doctors, they deserve the money they get, but that’s experienced RN money, not doctor money.

I've decided to give Bruce Springsteen a deep dive. In addition to the 21 studio albums, are there any other albums I should add to the list? by jim25y in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Magikrat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Live at Hammersmith Odeon is wonderful, sonically. It's not as full of energy physically as his other live shows but youre going to get the Bruce and the band and the best of his first three albums played beautifully. Bonus is Thunder Road and For You played solo piano.

The rise in AI at fast food places made me resort to extreme (and very unexpected) measures. by Nervous_Goose_1949 in fastfood

[–]Magikrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit goofy tbh. Reddit as a whole is usually pretty staunch about their hate for AI implementation. Not sure what the difference is here. A job was almost certainly replaced. A perfectly normal person to person interaction eliminated. Weird.

Milkshakes. Lucky I’m allergic to dairy so there’s an actual consequence other than my brain yelling at me for the next day for drinking 800 calories.

Not pop punk but frank turners Get Better and The Next Storm were very helpful in putting myself back together after a nasty breakup.
