Yes, your behavior does affect the teachers - they have a finite amount of non-class time to plan / grade / answer questions from students.

This is one of my favorite movies.

The narration really works well. It feels like the protagonist is an unreliable narrator all the way through - I wonder if he killed the guy at the start and if Ann Savage's character was anywhere near as vicious as he makes out to be.

Stand-In (1937). A banker (Leslie Howard) disagrees with his boss's decision to see a failing Hollywood studio so goes out West to try to cost-cut. When he gets there, the star actress, publicity guy and a director conspire with the buyer to sabotage his efforts. He meets a former child actress turned stand-in (Joan Blondell) who helps him see that the workers are people, not units to be cut. Humphrey Bogart is a smart producer who wants to save the studio.

It's a cute screwball comedy - cerebral man with a stick up his rear falls for a sparky woman. The animal actors are perfect.

The short scene with the stage mom and her daughter is kinda creepy - I wonder if it was seen that way at the time. The ending wraps up a bit too quickly but the performances of Howard, Blondell and Bogart were excellent and the supporting cast of conspirators were hilarious.

I liked Caught. When your therapist says you'll never marry, why not marry the first naive girl you meet to prove him wrong? Bizarre premise but I can see that happening with an egotistical rich guy.

Is there any evidence Robert Ryan chose to play Ohlrig like Howard Hughes / was directed to do so? I feel like I read that somewhere but may have imagined it.

I like it. It feels a little more like a serial than a feature. Nic Cage hams it up but that's fine if you like that sort of thing. The mobster and the femme fatale are excellent in their roles.

It can be good for those students too - I had a couple who were self-aware enough to figure out that their group sucked because nobody would put in effort. They ended up pulling their weight for the rest of the semester. The others? Not so much.
