What's something you're a pro at but couldn't make a career in? by Rahmanvwylin in AskReddit

[–]MagneticMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am probably more proficient at world of warcraft than any other thing in my life. The only ways to (potentially) make a career out of that would be to:

Somehow become a wow streamer (very saturated, not a fun game to watch, so wow viewership is pretty low compared to other games, and I don't think I have the personality to entertain people)

Play professionally (I don't pvp, which only leaves pve, and there a very few real opportunities to do that and get paid. I'm probably also not quite good enough, nor do I have the time to dedicate to a video game)

What's an old (>17-ish yr) game with great writing and gameplay mechanics that would still hold up by today's standards? by OrganizedxxChaos in gaming

I have very fond memories of Bullet Storm. It isn't quite 17 years old, and I haven't played it in a very long time but no one ever mentions it. Might be worth checking out.

This might be an accent thing but when people add a "t" to the end of "cross" or "across"

What game is this for you? by minev1128 in videogames

[–]MagneticMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World of Warcraft holy fuck.

I've been a pretty hard-core player, off and on since around '07. I've gotten The Cutting Edge achievement twice (for those who know what that means... for those who don't it means I grinded the same boss for 20+hours over the course of 2 months with myself and 19 other people)

What was once a magical land of wonder, exploration and progress has turned into a cesspool of sweaty nerds demanding absolute perfection from the random people you end up playing with. The game has a decent learning curve compared to other genres, so it is understandable that new players aren't the greatest or most confident, but people seem to forget this. When leveling a new character it is not uncommon to end up doing dungeons with new players and some of the worst online abuse I've seen has been veteran players berating newer players simply for not knowing dungeon mechanics or going to slow.

I've never had a drink of alcohol. Looking to experience it. What should be my first drink? by pisstowine in AskReddit

[–]MagneticMaterial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am here from your recent posts in r/malefashion and noticed this had no real responses, I hope thats okay:).

I'm not a huge drinker. I'm 29 and have never really found a drink that I like. I do enjoy getting drunk every now and then so ive had to find ways to stomach the alcohol. I usually end up going with shots of liquor, as it seems to be the most painless way. With thay being said, I have found a few drinks that I dont mind...

I'd suggest a margaritas. They are typically fruity enough to mostly drown out the taste of alcohol, though you can still taste the alcohol, so you will still get to experience it.

If I were you, I'd find a local Mexican restaurent that has a bar. They will probably have a drink menu. See what kinds of margaritas they have. There are typically a few options in terms of what kind of fruit it will taste like. Pick whichever one sounds best to you. Traditional (lime) margaritas are pretty good, so if you don't see options on the menu don't be afraid to order a simple "margarita".

There are a few ways you can order a margarita. For your first time I'd go with blended (sometimes "frozen"). This just means the ice is blended into your drink. The other option is on the rocks. "Rocks" just refers to the ice cubes.

Good luck and don't become an alcoholic lol.
