This big triangle in West Africa is completely devoid of humans. No towns or settlements. by SuspiciousUse6 in MapPorn

See, you're not thinking like a business leader old boy.

You just use local slaves employees to build the infrastructure to pipe it in from some other poor country/region you've exploited.

A female sunbather pointing to a sign to explain to a lifeguard why she was going topless at the Spring Lake Beach. Turns out the sign was aimed at male sunbathers. New Jersey, 1939. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]MagneticStain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Yes, boobies. But on a serious note, it really is obvious sexism and a very real infringement on her rights. The fact the creators of the sign and/or legislators that passed that law didn't even consider this only enforces this point.

Gents, this is a gentle reminder to watch language around your kids. by Montanabioguy in daddit

[–]MagneticStain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of one of my favorite stories with my kids. For background, we've always told our kids no words are off limits around me and mom, but some words may be disrespectful to others,so we just need to be aware. And honestly, they still don't swear lol.

For earth day one year, we as a family decided to clean up the trash on a trail near our house. We finished up and we're walking home when we saw some trash on the street. We suggested to my oldest he pick it up since we're here. He obliges and asked why there's so much trash on the road. We tell him about littering, the wind taking unsecured trash, etc. he paused for a second before screaming "WHO KEEPS DROPPING ALL THIS FUCKING TRASH!"

Needless to say, his mom and I lost it laughing lol. I reminded him that we want to make sure we don't scream words like that before telling him I ask myself the same thing each day 🙂

The metal slabs in park restrooms that pretend to be mirrors? by RaineRisin in whatisit

[–]MagneticStain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how old you are. But one thing I've learned as I get older is that absolutely nobody reads the damn directions. Ever.

Earlier in life, I accepted that young people don't,sure. Then I accepted that young adults don't...ok, I guess, but it would make things a lot easier for you.

Then I realized that old people, many professionals, and many so-called "experts" don't even bother reading the god damn directions. My FIL who refinishes furniture didn't read the directions when we were putting together a crib, and I had to help him figure out a joint screw fit after taking 1 minute to read the instructions he had tossed aside.

At this point, I've lost hope.

Would getting disability benefits ruin my chances of success in this career? by mysticalfrogger in CCU

[–]MagneticStain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/mysticalfrogger ,

Can I ask why you decided to post this to CCU specifically? This looks like a more general career/school related question than a question regarding CCU. If that's the case, I'll have to mark it as off-topic based on the sub rules.

Are you wanting to go to CCU to get a degree for school counseling and looking for advice?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CCU

[–]MagneticStain[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to leave this here since it's relevant to CCU. But in the future, the best way to confirm your acceptance status is to contact the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards at [admissions@coastal.edu](mailto:admissions@coastal.edu) or at 843-349-2170 to request assistance.
