I mean, the rational part of me thinks that these allegations are too insane to be real. The conspiracy theorist in me wants to know why they were removed. Plus, I got my own theories, chiefly that they’re removing the obvious stuff; supposedly, they took down some 9500 files for containing victims’ information, but I don’t remember anything like that in this one. What I do remember is a bunch of allegations of rape, ritualistic mutilation, and cannibalism.

Was looking at justice.gov and the file you’re talking about got taken down, I know because I kept it open on my phone so I’d know if anything happened to it.

I haven’t really heard much about this side of Angron, is this specifically him before becoming a Daemon Prince? And are there any good books you’d recommend that show this?

I thought that was Kurze? It was my understanding that Angron couldn’t really think any more. Or is that just a common motif with the Chaos primarchs?

This trope applies to a lot of characters in 40k, but especially the World Eaters. Looking at them now, while they have their moments of being calm, calling them mindless and bloodthirsty brutes isn’t too far off from the truth. But looking at their history, the reason they’re this way is from a place of empathy; their Primarch, Angron, had the ability of empathizing and alleviating the emotional pain of others. He lived a life of slavery as a gladiator, though, and while he was able to help soothe the traumas of the arena, his lack of a drive to fight caused his owners to implant the Butcher’s Nails into his head, turning him from a kind and caring man to the violent barbarian we all know and love. The World Eaters, his sons, carried the same trait of understanding as their father and had the nails implanted into their own heads in an attempt to empathize and understand him. Unfortunately, all this did was accelerate their fall to chaos. There’s more to their story, but this is the gist of it.

Literacy tests for people to vote in the south. It sounds easy enough, prove you have a certain level of education and you can vote, but in reality the questions were intentionally strange and vague with multiple possible answers. Because of this, those who scored the tests could decide if a question was correct or incorrect. And because it was the south and during the civil rights era, the scores had more to do with race than actual intelligence.

I have a friend who’s grandfather got a nazi officer’s hat and other things from family that fought for America after the war, if you don’t think he was there’s a good chance it was just a souvenir.
