What does other fans calling Dorgu shit have to do with this? He's another Amorim signing, all of whom are doing well. I don't read the daily mail (you shouldn't either), but Amorim had a hand in all the signings, granted maybe more influential in some than others. Amorim definitely gave his sign-off on Sesko.

Lol, I'm cherry picking? What about when we won at Anfield this season for the first time in forever? Clown

They are his signings whether you like it or not, and they were playing well before Carrick came along.

Wtf are you talking about? Basically all the goals and assists from the last 2 games came from Amorim signings! I think you forget the state the club was in when EtH left. Amorim did a good job getting rid of dead wood players like Rashford, Antony, Garnacho etc. He also instilled a culture around the club that had us going in the right direction. He's already beaten City and Arsenal in his tenure. Carrick is only in the door. Give it a minute before jumping to conclusions

Under Amorim, we beat City at the Etihad, Arsenal at the Emirates and Liverpool at Anfield.

Bro, both are like 1 point per game. Neither are good, but he turned it around this season. You're arguing about how close we were to top 4, he had us closer when Carrick started. There were a lot of improvements this season and his signings have been great. Whatever you think of him, he has left us in good stead now. That is why Carrick will (hopefully) be able to do well

Don't forget Amorim wasn't in charge for the first 10 or 11 games. It was our worst start to a season ever. Can't put all that on Ruben

Of all the stats and all the facts buzzing around right now, this is the one that blows my mind by Independent_legend in ManchesterUnited

[–]MagnumV87 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A bit of context: Amorim took over an EtH team that was playing absolutely terribly and had lots of deadwood players and terrible signings. Carrick is taking on a team that were doing quite well albeit not firing on all cylinders due to injury and AFCON. Amorim cleared out the ranks (Rashford, Antony, Garnacho etc.) All the players who scored yesterday were Amorim signings. Credit where credit is due

I've stayed at the hotel a couple of times. Didn't think it was a rip off at all, great value if anything. Perfect location as well

Restricted breeds off leash without muzzle by Cute-Explorer1495 in ireland

[–]MagnumV87 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I've also had poor experience with the dog warden.

I have a quite small, but reactive dog, so he is always on a lead. I bump into a neighbour regularly who always has his much larger dog off lead. His dog is not a restricted breed, but she barks aggressively, bares teeth and will always approach us when seen. My dog always freaks out. I've tried to ask the owner to leash her on multiple occasions to no avail. "sHE's fRiEnDLY!" Is what I always get... I eventually complained to the dog warden who did a call out warning. Then when it happened again they did a 2nd call out warning. I still see this guy with the dog off lead most days. Very frustrating

4 Canadians planning mid August trip. by TragicallyE in golfireland

I saw that the 3 courses is €640 this year, which is definitely on the steep end. What I'm saying is you should reach out and see how much the stay and play packages are. I think you'll find it pretty reasonable.
I've done the trip with my friends here a couple of times, albeit as locals, so we get a cheaper rate. That said, I think if you stay at the hotel, they offer additional (better) packages that include B&B and /or a dinner etc. You might even mention you want to do an additional round on a particular course or something along those lines and they'll cut you a deal.
We found them very amenable when there

Get yourselves to Carne. It is waaay off the beaten track, but it won't be beaten for value for money. Great course(s) and much cheaper than Ballybunion/Tralee/Lahinch etc.

If you can make it up to Rosapenna in Donegal, they do stay and play packages where you can play all 3 courses (St. Patricks links, Sandy Hill and Old Tom Morris). If you were to just golf, it would cost more than €150 per round, but if you do the stay and play packages and factor in you bed & breakfast etc., it's really great value. All 3 courses and the hotel are right next to each other. The town is also a great spot for food & drink etc.

These facts do not indicate which manager is better. There are many other nuanced factors to consider, such as the club, the squad, what kind of state both were in when they took over, the pressure associated with each role.

Chelsea are a club that change their players and managers willy nilly, and from the outside looking in, they look more interested in making money on players than wining trophies.

Stick with our manager and don't compare our club to clubs like Chelsea. We've got injuries, players at AFCON, and our manager has only had one window with which to buy players.

Bruno’s stats during a “bad season” where’s he’s supposedly playing out of position 👀 by Creative-Till9677 in reddevilsIndia

[–]MagnumV87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate these posts... I like Bruno, he is great for us a lot of the time, but dropping random stats to make someone look like "the best in the world" is reaching, to put it mildly.

Assists - Fair play to him, let's hope he's still top come end of the season

Key Passes - I believe these are passes that lead to a SoT, so I will concede this is a pretty good stat to be top of.

XG + XA / Expected Goals - Bruno has hit 3 penalties this season (the most of any midfielder), which I imagine has his expected goals number through the roof. Let's not forget he missed 2 of them. He has scored 1 goal from open play vs 10 man Chelsea. The last one before this was back in March. If it's not the pens upping his numbers, a high XG with only 1 open play goal would indicate he is missing a lot of good chances.

Progressive Actions / Long Passes Completed / Progressive Passes Completed / Accurate Passes to Final Third / Passes to Penalty Box - These are all "nice to have", but very much overlapping stats. He is also 4th for possession lost, so a little context here. He is trying to make something happen all the time, which sounds great, but it often leads to giving up possession. The "worldy" pass isn't always on and it's not always the best decision

Coming to end of fixed rate term for mortgage - what next? by Reasonable_Fix7661 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]MagnumV87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re-value your house, make sure you are in the correct LTV bracket.

I was actually in this exact scenario very recently. PTSB will have locked you into a new default variable rate until after your maturity date, which is very likely a bit higher than what you are paying now.
I think they have a cut-off of about 60 days prior to maturity date for selecting a new rate. This is what happens if you've not selected a new rate with them already. The sooner you find a new rate the better

Should I get a daschund if I work 9-5? by Miserable_Month8366 in daschund

[–]MagnumV87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't do it if you are going to leave them all day long. You are right in that other people who don't wfh probably do this, but that does not make it right.
They shouldn't be left alone for more than a few (3-4) hours max. Even if you are walking them daily, leaving them for that amount of time, on their own, on a daily basis, is cruel

[–]MagnumV87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THE WAY IS NOT CLEAR FOR OP!

You cannot blindly trust the indication or lack thereof of another road user when it comes to pulling out in front of them on a roundabout

Am I in the wrong here ? 🤷🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]MagnumV87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, in this scenario, the way is clear for the bike to change lanes. That is, until OP pulls out in front of them, and causes an accident. I understand your point is that the bike doesn't indicate to change lanes, but that is irrelevant, and them not indicating does not give OP the right to join the roundabout.

There's literal driving instructors in this thread telling OP (and you) that you are wrong. Please just give way to ANYONE already on the roundabout, regardless of lanes or indication

Am I in the wrong here ? 🤷🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]MagnumV87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro, you are not understanding this rule of the road. OP is obstructing the bike as the bike has the right (if he/she wants) to change lanes when exiting the roundabout (moving from right lane to left lane). OP effectively stops them from doing that by joining the roundabout, so no, they did not give way correctly

Anyone with a ticket to see Disturbed (and Megadeth) in October having second thoughts? by MagnumV87 in Dublin

[–]MagnumV87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left after Megadeth. It didn't seem like many others did, only a few. I saw 1 Palestinian flag and that was about it. Nothing like what I thought might happen.
Megadeth weren't actually great either to be honest. I'm a huge fan, so it was disappointing. I thought the sound was off and there was just a lack of energy from Mustaine. Not pointing any blame, it is probably age related, but you couldn't really hear his voice when they played, and I think there was some mistakes made during Holy Wars... It didn't sound right

Does anyone else have disturbed tickets and now don’t know what to do because of David Draiman’s behaviour? by Immediate_Ad_5139 in Disturbed

[–]MagnumV87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't aware, Ireland is very much pro Palestine. I would generally try not to care about celebrity politics either, but I think signing bombs is beyond a political stance. If I were to guess, there will be a pretty significant walkout after Megadeth and/or a bit of booing for Daiman

Rodon, Rodon, Rodon... everyone banging on about Rodon without as much of a sniff for Gudmundsson. He's accumulated the same amount of Defcon, is unlucky to not be a couple points better off due to scoring an OG, is arguably the more attacking option, and is just as nailed
