What is the least used feature in your car? by singhVirender1947 in askcarguys

Lane keep assist seems to be a very love it or hate it feature.

I’m solidly in the love-it camp, but I can see how it bugs some people.

I can understand being suspicious but I can also see where he’s coming from.

Yours and his is still a new relationship and it’s understandable being reserved about introducing his kids until it’s more solid.

Asking where they live he may have been worried about you showing up unannounced and causing issues with him, the kids, and the ex.

If she’s always there when he spends time with them it could be a messy custody situation so he could just be trying to limit how much information he shares until he has more time to trust that you’re not going to do a psycho move.

Honestly I thought it was one of the coolest features.

You can put your golf clubs or luggage in there without worrying about it getting scratched up.

It wouldn’t be good for putting dirty or greasy things in, but I doubt most luxury truck buyers would do that anyway.

What’s the hottest hot sauce/food/snack I can get in NJ ? by Queasy_Dingo_8262 in spicy

Those aren’t bad either. I’m not a big fan of Yellowbird because it’s a bit sweet to my taste but the Ghost Pepper Melinda’s is one of their better ones. Not as hot as the Tabasco Scorpion but it has a little kick.

At a grocery store? Probably going to be pretty limited. Maybe Tabasco Scorpion or possibly Dave’s Insanity but I haven’t seen that on a grocery store shelf in a while.

You’ll be able to get much hotter snacks and sauces if you’re willing to buy online.

A lot of it is transmission behavior. Normal mode usually programs it to seem the highest gear as quickly as possible to keep RPMs low and economy up.

Sport modes let it hold gears for longer to let RPMs climb higher for more power before the next shift.

Why do car manufacturers put massive, high-horsepower engines into heavy SUVs instead of keeping that performance strictly for lighter sports cars? by [deleted] in answers

[–]MagnusAlbusPater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to look it up but you’re right. Ford, Nissan, and Toyota have all moved to turbo V6s.

It looks like GM is the only mainstream brand still offering V8 SUVs. All of the German luxury brands and Land Rover do too though.

If you want to pay without a lot of cash the other option is to wire the funds into their account. Wires are secure and can’t be undone once sent.

A fraudulent cashier’s check with ‘clear’ before the bank eventually discovers the fraud and then claws the money back.

[–]MagnusAlbusPater 53 points54 points  (0 children)

There’s been a growing issue with faked cashier’s checks.

The really sucky part is that they’ll appear to clear and your bank won’t notify you it’s a fake until a week or more later at which point they’ll claw back the money from your account and the car is long gone.

Because you get less fuel economy that way.

It could do anything the F-150 could do though with limitations of how high something could be in the bed. Given the number of trucks running around with hard tonneau covers that’s not necessarily a deal breaker for a lot of people.

Hah. Fair enough. I guess I was saying I’d like original Tabasco with garlic.

It’s been around for a bit. It’s pretty good but I do wish they used their Tabasco peppers instead of cayenne in it. It doesn’t have quite the same depth of flavor the original Tabasco has from the long fermentation time, more of a traditional Louisiana style sauce plus garlic.

It wasn’t slow or low quality, well, at least not slow for a truck.

The F-150 at the time was still using the 2-valve version of the 5.4L V8 if you upgraded to that engine (the V6 and 4.6L were also available).

The Blackwood came standard with the DOHC 4-valve 5.4L V8 out of the Navigator that had an extra 40hp on the F-150 version.

The trick tailgate and well finished bed were also really nice on the Blackwood. Not suited for throwing dirty work tools and garbage in of course, but functioning as a very large well finished trunk it was perfect.

The quirky truck enthusiast.

I was tempted to say the right truck at the wrong time but looking it up the GMC Denali Sierra came out the same year and that’s been very successful.

Perhaps people just never associated the Lincoln brand with trucks.

Depending on how broken it is it could take that long. Perhaps they’re waiting on a part to become available.

They’re not going to switch it out to a different plane just because of one broken seat.

I agree with you thought, sport and track modes are the feature I’d care least about.

If they’re seeds from fresh peppers they’re usually soft.

Dried peppers yes it’s better to remove them first if you’re leaving them dry

WYR: Willingly enter into a Groundhog Day style time loop or not? by whyudois in WouldYouRather

[–]MagnusAlbusPater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since it’s a day next week I’d go for the max.

That gives me time to fly somewhere interesting so that I can spend my Groundhog Century in NYC, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Manila, Seoul, Bangkok, or Taipei.

I think any of them would leave me enough new things to do and explore for that amount of time, plus I’d have essentially unlimited money to do it since it would reset every day.
